Excellent coastal walk. The terrain is not too difficult & the views are world class. A large amount of the surrounding coast is owned by The National Trust & there are several NT properties nearby well worth a visit.

Why go abroad when there is 630 miles of stunning coast line walking from Minehead in Somerset to Poole in Dorset. Great walking and scenery guaranteed throughout. I recommend walking in the Spring or Autumn mainly because it is easier to obtain accommodation. My wife and I completed this is 4-5 sessions from 2010 to 2015. Huge fun.

One of the best long distance paths in the country. Fabulous scenery all the way but parts of it are quite tough as lots of cliffs and that means hills.

I have done this walk several times for charity and Its different every time. Please do not do any cliff walks here in bad weather or strong winds as can be dangerous. Old path maps will be out of date as sadly erosion has altered some of them. You will find peace and great joy in the south west coast... More

Absolutely gorgeous. The views are beautiful; it's quite an experience and sometimes a lot more excitement than one might expect on a walk.

The train runs right by the sea... Not the sea with beach coast line, but directly by the sea! When big wave hits our train, I had to think of the worst case scenario... Even every member of my family soaked in Rain and Wave from the sea, We all looked happy and exciting! One rare experience you can have... More

Even a small section of this route is worth walking, but check the ability of all party members as it can frighten some; because of path width and heights to the sea.

For those of you who love walking, you have to tackle the SWCP - even if just in bits at a time. We varied between taking a week out to do linear stretches, the good ole walk out and bus back options and circular walks for bits left over/lazier days. The north coast of Somerset and into Devon was a... More
