CLOSED for 14 months, gone forever.

It was OK, if brief and expensive, while it was here but, the contract was ended, the wheel dismantled and taken off, possibly to somewhere in Spain and the council have no plans to do it again. A couple of recent reviews could suggest that it is still about or operates seasonally, which is wrong. My date of visit is as old as I could make it on the drop down menu but I actually used the wheel at least two years ago.

Although not in situ all the year round this is an attraction not to miss when it is in town. The view it gives you of the town and surroundings is great giving a totally new perspective to the Hoe

Went once. Bit of an eyesore, except perhaps in the night time photo above. Offered some otherwise up available views down into places like the citadel and new street back gardens. Was very expensive though which is maybe why it failed financially. My visit date is wrong but Tripadvisor insist you put one in.

I went on this wheel last year with my friend, well its really lovely, the view is 360degrees. Looking right to the Hoe,Barbican,Cornwall and to the right our city centre, there is a very interesting commentary, alot l never knew about Plymouth and l enjoyed it,it goes quite slow and you do stop at the top each one, then it goes around and around a few times, the day we went up was sunny and clear and was absolutely lovely, well worth it.

Stellar views and not too bad for those scared of heights!

I had never been on a ferris wheel [and Eye, in England], and my boyfriend insisted that we go up while I was visiting him. The entrance fee was a little pricey, but it was worth it. We had the carriage to ourselves, it was secure and sturdy. The wheel didn't rotate quickly, which definitely helped since I am terrified of heights. If I remember correctly [it's been a few months since my visit], we revolved about about six times, and often top when we were at the top, for a gorgeous scenic view. The whole ride took about 15 minutes, and no queue. I am definitely going to visit again, it really was gorgeous!

Closed and being dismantled.

We were on the Hoe today in poor but spectacular weather conditions and spent a little time watching the huge team of skilled workmen and the fleet of large transporters involved in tithe removal of the cabins and other equipment which is apparently being removed to France or Spain. It will be refreshing to see the impressive and noble sweep of the Hoe Promenade and historic surroundings restored.

What a view
Oct 2013 • Solo
It was a special offer when I visited the Wheel on the Hoe only £5 so I decided to be brave and have a go; it was wonderful. It was such a clear day I could see for miles, I was so busy taking photos that I forgot I was frightened and that it was windy. The staff were helpful and I was assisted into the bubble even though I could manage.

Great View but stifling in the bubble
Oct 2013 • Family
We paid our £8.50 a head and climbed into the bubble. It was a glorious day and the views of the Hoe and the Sound were spectacular. However the sun was blazing into our tiny pod and it got hotter and hotter- so much so that it became stifling and one of our party felt quite ill. We had four revolutions and at the end it was unbearable in there. When it stopped and we were able to get out I spoke to the operator and he said "Oh- didn't she switch on the air conditioning for you? Sorry about that..." Hmmmm....
