There are lots of useful and detailed reviews of this place, formerly called the Town Mill Bakery and offering a refreshing tasty hearty formula for good meals. Well worth trying.

Just on the right inside the gate to the Royal William Yard in Stonehouse and being used as a largish space for part of the British Art Show 7 which is continuing until December speed over several venues in the city. This is a good place for it. Numerous intriguing peculiar or fun exhibits and installations. You can still see some morbid remnants of the buildings original internal features and purpose. Currently free but beware the odd and possibly misleading electronic parking payment system now operating throughout the public areas of the yard. Read the notices careful. No tickets and pay as you leave.

Stunning historic architecture just a few minutes in a cab from the city centre. Some nice eateries, mostly chains, but good never the less.

Do the whole yard tour , run by a lady who pitches up near to the entrance gate. Very interesting, Lots of restaurants to choose from. Go on the first Sunday in the month when there is a food market.

Wildwood first came to Plymouth at Derrys cross which succeeded and now they are doing alright down here. It's pleasant with a relaxed modern feel in an old she'll but the food is functional and OK nothing outstanding. There is a restaurant listing on Tripadvisor.

We learn this week that the pizza pasta and grills group Wildwood, who recently opened a unit in Derry's Cross Plymouth have now got planning permission to occupy the front end of the Slaughter House as a second cafe in the city. It's not clear whether they will supplant the large Bakery cafe in the other end or if they will co-exist.

In January 2020 it was announced that ‘The Hook & Line’, an independent seafood restaurant and rustic bar was to open in part of this building. Everywhere is currently closed by the Lockdown but does anyone know whether this project is going ahead?
