Beautiful and historic, great views. A short walk from the shopping centre and near the Barbican for restaurants and cafes.

Plenty of space to relax with small cafes spread along the waterfront with a small kiddies park at the east end

This is a massive plateau overlooking Plymouth Sound. I was there for the eclipse in 1999, along with thousands of others. Summertime sees open-air concerts here, and the annual firework competition is best seen from the Hoe.

Beautiful public space set by the English Channel. The lighthouse is obviously the main attraction and a photo-stop.

On a clear crisp day the view is stunning, take a look at the Royal Navy ship sailing to who knows where, and the Brittany Ferry heading for Spain.

You won't find a better setting than the Hoe, absolutely stunning with views of drakes island and out to Plymouth sound. Came back from Santander on the ferry on a dull and horrible day, but my spirits were lifted when I saw the fabulous sight...More

Not sure if this is meant for me. If it is not sure where the nelson bit came from as I didn't mention it in my review. If it's not meant for me please ignore.

The Hoe doesn't tend to attract yobs, we are quite lucky living in Devon. Simon
