The library facilities previously contained in the early twentieth century building in North Hill have all been closed and some of the general reading and audio etc options are being re-established in a freshly converted office building on the corner of Armada Way and Mayflower Street. This has some much interesting information, good for children who are over 7yrs. Excellent for adults so much can be learned about the naval history of Plymouth

Huge amount of material to either read through or research in this section of the central library. Well worth a look if you have any interest in anything nautical. The staff are also extremely helpful and knowledgeable if you need guidance or assistance. Treasure this important resource Plymouth.

Upstairs in the central library is the local history section and also the naval history. A good shot at both but it is all looking a bit run down and could be so much better with some extra resources. The naval section will be all the more important as the navy itself strings and the dockyard may be closed. I... More
