We went to and from Portsmouth on the Bretagne. The Buffet dinner we had was terrific and great value for 25 pounds. There was fresh seafood, endless prawns, smoked salmon but my favourite was the steamed whole salmon. This melted in your mouth. Then there was the main course, a choice of 3 or 4 duck, steak, lamb or fish.... More

This was the first time we had travelled using Brittany Ferries and it most definitely won't be the last. We travelled the Portsmouth - Caen route on the first ferry of the morning & as we had travelled overnight from Scotland we had booked a cabin. We were very surprised & impressed by the array of breakfasts on offer. Our... More

I used to hate Brittany ferries but they have come a long way in the past few years and their food and presentation is so much better. Summertime is always busy and with screaming kids and people desperate to get across the waters with their cars and vehicles laden with holiday belongins, its always going to be a trial of... More

We took the ferry to the Royal William Yard. It was a short and pleasant ride; non-eventful. Essentially; this was a taxi ride by water.

We loved this crossing. Comfortable cabin, lots of stuff for the kids including a swimming pool, 2 cinemas and a magician and a good variety of food served in the restaurants. Highly recommended

On any other occasion, I would normally rate Brittany Ferries as offering a Five Star service. We sail with them up to eight times annually and are generally very satisfied. In May, however, our crossing from Portsmouth to Santander was cancelled with four days' notice, owing to a mechanical failure. No alternative feasible crossing was available. We had planned a... Dear 'Bootess', Thank you for sharing your feedback and for your much valued custom over the years. I’m sorry your travel plans were disrupted by the technical breakdown of the Pont-Aven in May. This was an exceptionally busy time of year for the breakdown to occur and space on our popular Spanish services was limited. We did offer generous gestures... More

If you live in the South West its the best way to take tour car to France or Spain. Nice ships usual amentities but a bit pricy, no competion. They claim to have award winning restaurants but do not know who awards them, self service is better value. Can view the ships if they are in from the ferry terminal.

Travelled via the ferry to Santander, with my husband, 2 dogs and 2 Cockatiels. Prior to travel the information gained from website and via telephone was extremely helpful and reassuring. On arrival at the port of Plymouth there were long waits and delays and no-one telling us why this was? Finally on checking in through passport control etc we were... More

The captive audience allows the company to charge premium pricing for basics. Service is pretty fast, they have the staff to make it fairly painless while queuing. The selection and food quality isn't bad but be prepared to pay through the nose. Other than that, the loading/unloading of the ferry is efficient, the ferry itself is clean, tidy and spacious.

Dear ‘Greg C C’ Thank you for your review and for taking the time to post your comments. I’m pleased to read that you enjoyed your crossing but I am really disappointed to see that you found our breakfast prices to be outrageous. We work hard to try and provide a choice of breakfast options to meet the needs of... More
