At the Barbican Theatre, we use theatre and dance to fire people up and get them excited about making, creating and exploring new moves and disciplines.

We are inclusive and work with anyone who wants to join us to make outstanding theatre and dance. You can get involved as a participant or as an audience member in work that inspires, challenges, entertains and educates.

We believe that creativity belongs to everyone, so we ensure that our performances and workshops are affordable and accessible. We are also specialists in taking our work out to schools, into public spaces and to communities.

Feel free to drop us a review on one of our latest shows or if you've come for a visit, let us know about your experience! Don't forget to take some snaps whilst you're in the building, whether it's with a caught-out cast member or of our B-Bar downstairs. We hope you enjoy your trip to our tucked away theatre - currently rated NUMBER ONE THEATRE IN PLYMOUTH - so give us a 'like' on Facebook or a 'follow' on Twitter to find out more about future events!

Fantastic evening, especially as was in a group of Cub Scouts who didn't know what to expect. All through the performance everyone was laughing out loud so that says it all.Have seen the foursome men before and this show was as good as their previous one.

Another great evening's entertainment at the Barbican Theatre. My wife and I enjoyed a delicious Thai curry at the B-bar before taking our seats for Le Navet Bete's latest "pantomime" extravaganza, The Jungle Book. This is our third exposure to this wonderful crazy bunch of actors and we were treated to exactly the same hilarious performance as before. They surely... More

I've seen a number of shows at the Barbican Theatre and it's a lovely experience. There's a warm, friendly feel to the theatre and because it's a small auditorium, you're always close to the action. The evening I'm reviewing here was on 15 December 2016, when I went with friends to see Jungle Book by Devon-based Le Navet Bete, which... More

Really enjoyed the Jungle Book and everyone was really friendly. Even offered to tell children about the more scary elements i.e. bangs! Thanks everyone involved. Such high energy!

Jungle book was excellent reasonably priced family show. Dependent on energy and imagination of the performers without elaborate sets or effects

Love this fabulous little theatre. So much atmosphere. Staff are superb as they are so friendly and interact with you during the interval and in the bar. You can tell that they are very proud of the theatre. Saw La Nave Bete, Jungle Book, this time having seen their version of Robin Hood last year. Very talented company and thoroughly... More

Le Navet Bete never fail to deliver. Superb acting, well written, imaginative, great set, excellent dancing and good audience participation (and, mark you, I was that naughty monkey so unjustly picked to be snake fodder). First visit for us to the Barbican Theatre and that didn't disappoint either.

Thanks for this amazing feedback David, it sounds like you had a brilliant night (being 'eaten' by a snake aside!!) We really hope to see you back at Barbican Theatre soon - we have a great Spring season coming up (which includes Le Navet Bete's Dracula at Easter) and then in the summer we have our outdoor Shakespeare production -...
