Best Panto I've seen here in about 4 years! Joe Pasquale was the best headlining cast Member you've had for a long time! Hope to see him back in the coming years. This was the first time I have seen Aladdin in the theatre royal as its seems to repeat Cinderella rather a lot (seen that 3 times), fantastic production, stunning sets and costumes, all cast were fantastic especially Abanazar who did his job to the maximum! Special effects were outstanding as usual, (won't give too much away). I love 'If I were not in panto land' best version of that I've seen too! Looking forward to next year's!

As a surprise for my grandson, I took him to see Aladdin at the Theatre Royal Plymouth.
The statistics of Covid spreading was a concern, however the theatre was very organized and everyone was wearing masks. They provided gel on entry and exit, and the people around us continued to wear their masks.
The performance was just outstanding. All the cast members gave it 100%, and to think they perform twice a day. A few add lib lines which made it even funnier. Widow Twanky had so many dress changes and the outfits were amazing. Joe Pasquale’s remains as entertaining as ever, even joining in with the acrobats. This Panto is worth every single penny.
Great job welcoming the public Theatre Royal, and a big thank you to all the cast is making my grandson’s and mine a perfect Boxing Day evening.

Aladdin is best panto ever! Fantastic lights, effects, costumes, a joke a minute and amazing routines! Well worth a visit - feeling really Christmassy now! (Even with gloomy Omicron Covid news!)

Really poor Panto.
Absolute minimal set and costumes changes and no really story line to the show, didn’t feel special at all.

Refreshments were through the roof on charges,it cost a whopping£6 for two regular cokes, not even an ice cube to be seen in the oversized plastic glass.

We were excited to be returning after 2 years and to see Mathew Bourne’s Nutcracker…… that’s the good bit!

We were disappointed that the restaurant was not yet open so we knew we had to find somewhere else to eat.

We arrived at the doors at 5:30 so we could pick up our tickets and then wander off to find a meal. We were greeted by locked doors although there were some people inside and a member of staff approached us and said they don’t open the doors until an hour before the performance.

When we did finally get in….there are very few refreshments on offer a poor choice of sweets and virtually all you could get was an alcoholic drink, coffee and a program.

Nobody selling ice creams at the interval and we were all packed into The upper circle like sardines in the middle in the first few rows with plenty of unsold seats up behind us.

Surely they could’ve spread it out a bit.

Come on Theatre Royal if you’re gonna open, open up properly!!

We have been avid supporters of this venue but won’t be returning until the restaurant and full facilities are open again.

Matthew Bourne’s The Nutcracker was lovely, but I can’t the same for the whole theatre experience. It only opened 60 minutes before the performance, the restaurant, The Apron, was closed (they must be losing lots of money), and they didn’t have ice-creams in the interval. They said the coffee machine was broken in the foyer. And we had to queue for the ticket machines – a very long time.

Birmingham ballet once again excelled loved this interpretation. Music also superbly preformed. This was a last minute booking and the 4th time watching Birmingham's finest.
Theatre is lovely and could be better once bars and restaurant reopens, but did not take away from the night.
Only slight criticism could be 10 to 15 mins shorter.

Theatre Royal Plymouth on Thursday 28.10.21 the Royal ballet Romeo and Juliet was outstanding pity that the rest of the evening was so bad. Pouring with rain spent 15 mins in the car park having various cards rejected as transaction aborted finally used £ 3.90 cash to get a ticket entered theatre to do you have a ticket! no I am collecting them from box office found my wife distressed as she was told at 6pm doors not open so had to sit outside in the pouring rain, when she asked why are there other people inside reply was they here for other reasons!
man finally allowed her in and made a reluctant apology.
the box office were very friendly and helpfull as were the bar staff who had a limited range due to 1st days training.
the audience was few and spares to say the least
We had bought £36 seats in the stalls row 3 good view of the ballet especially the foot movements and dancers expressions unfortuneatly sat behind an adult and child who continually were moving up and down and side to side which spoilt the visual appreciation
This was ovecome at the interval as we moved to some empty seats. otherwise the performance was outstanding
pity that PTR had not bothered with a programme only a A4 teamsheet.
I understand that the theatre has recently undergone a refurbishment/update well its dark and dismal inside and the auditorium is less than attractive concrete and glass hardly appealing to the eye

Apart from the ballet it was not a pleasant experience and I will not be rushing back I did want to see Les Miserables amongst others but cant face a return.
Having driven to Hall for Cornwall on the previous Tuesday to see Fishermans Friends the musical what a difference welcomed in, totally new refurbished theatre/auditorium
front row seats at £15 practically on the stage! fantastic show and free parking after 6pm within 200 yards of the door what a difference and a memorable evening
I have already booked Jan2022 Swan Lake and Nutcracker and look forward to memorable evenings at the Hall for Cornwall despite the 110 mile round trip
I will let you judge which evening gets my vote I Dave in Downderry
