As the interior is relatively small and it's always been a popular pub, I was nervous to revisit after lock down, fearing it would be too busy. I am a key worker and suffer with anxiety so venturing out during covid has had its issues!
The car park has been developed into an outdoor seating area so, in good weather, there is increased space. Table numbers have been reduced inside and a one-way system introduced. Any fears I had have been alleviated.
The real ale choice has had to be reduced owing to covid-related supplier issues but there is still a good selection which is regularly rotated to provide new choices and is still well-kept.

Just had lunch with friends, of course appropriately socially distanced. Good honest food, large portions at very reasonable prices. What a shame, even in these "covid" times the PM wasn't a little busier as Kate, Gary and staff are trying their hardest in these times.

Great pub, dog friendly, good prices and a proper local. Slight lack of seating. Pub quiz and cider/ale festivals throughout the year. You can even walk off the few pints through the park opposite... if you can manage the hill!

We have just enjoyed a short stay in this great family run pub, the current situation for eating out and enjoying a drink is not great but the Prince Maurice has delivered a great menu in a quiet safe friendly surrounding thanks again Gary and Kate for your hospitality .

It's quite a small pub but it's dog friendly and the drinks on offer are good and it's no rip off either.
It's the sort of local where you sit at the bar and chat, stand or sit and talk with friends or just sit and ignore the world and enjoy your own company.
Recommended.

An old pub on the rise again. Set between an old parish church and now partially built on village green but a stones throw from the chip shop. Called the Prince Maurice since the 1960s to link with local civil war history. It isn't somewhere I would come to eat. I don't know if it does any food but it does have about seven regular ales and a couple of changing visiting selections. It retains a good deal of character, has two bars. Retains a slight village feel but it is stuck in amongst a vast dense aging postwar suburb. I would drink here more often if there was always someone else driving.

Don't come that often to this old pub smothered in dour suburbia but it can be a welcoming convivial drinkers pub, not least when the throng at the bar or the staff are in an upbeat mood.
