The Angel pub is a modern day independent boozer with traditional values. The staff and the locals treat the place like home. It changes throughout the day and something is always happening to keep us entertained. You can sit by the fire in our...more

This bar is cool & appropriate in Exeter however the toilets are absolutely disgusting. I doubt very much that I will return after seeing the state of it tonight. Such a shame as the staff are lovely and they stock a great choice of booze

There arn't many real pubs in Exeter City Centre so this one is pretty unique, lots of local music goes on or DJ nights so its pretty lively. The Clientel can be pretty random, just have to pick your moments. The staff are very friendly...More

We were walking by, my elderly mother and 6-year-old daughter needed the toilet. We went and asked the young male bartender politely if we could use it. The bartender said, "No you have to buy something." My daughter was about to wet herself, was crying,...More

This bar reminds me of my student days in the Kings Road and is all the better for that A warm, welcoming atmosphere in an obviously female and LGBT friendly environment is a great improvement over so many of the 'beer and football' high street...More

I've no doubt that the Angel Bar fulfils a niche market, and it is indeed a smart bar with a good range of craft ales. I use the word "bar" deliberately here however, because this is certainly more of a modern bar as opposed to...More

I have been going here since the Angels run the place in the early 70s. Sadly its reached a low point. Yes it puts on music some great djs and has maintained an alternative vibe. But the toilets are no longer fit for purpose. As...More

Visited for a few scopes of ale, this happened on an evening when you could pitch up with your own instruments and play a few tunes. Not Karaoke as people were actually playing and singing. Good relaxed pub, cozy.

Nice chilled pub - good music during the afternoon. Some excellent Otter ale.... Just seems a real nice place for a pint of beer.
