Decided to visit Ugbrooke house and gardens not realising that it was guided tours only. We arrived around 12.45 and was booked in for the house at 2pm. This left us very little time to walk far around the lake. The guided tour was a...More
Ugbrooke House is an amazing visit. The house has an interesting history going back to the early 1600s or before. What made this visit so interesting was the guided tour. The two guides who took us around were knowledgeable and clearly enjoyed their work. The...More
I arrived at about the same time they opened. I was charged £10.50p to go in and had to pay another £2 for the guidebook. The woman claimed it was a three minute walk to the house and the first tour would be at 12.30pm....More

Ugbrooke House has obliged a few times to be the setting of the Crowning of nearly Chudleigh's Carnival Queen and attendants. usually coinciding with the walk for WESC event. The Ceremony is beautiful and you can purchase cream teas in the orangery which are lovely....More
Excellent gardens and house to tour around and a lovely chapel onsite. This is located of the A38 near to Chudleigh in Devon. This is a great experience and the gardens were really enjoyable on a clear day.
We visited on a showery day so we were unable to make the most of the grounds. The formal gardens are quite small but pretty, and the lakeside areas very pleasant. The house is only available to visit by guided tour which lasted well over...More
Although we had a little difficulty finding Ugbrooke House it was well worth the effort. We arrived in time to have coffee and cake in the Orangery (served by very friendly staff) before joining a tour round the house. Interesting and informative our two guides...More
