The Quay has a great variety of climbing walls, as well as two bouldering rooms. The service isn't always great so it may take a while for them to get you set up, but once you're equipped and climbing none of it really matters anymore. A nice relaxing afternoon for couples, families or groups of friends. And if climbing solo... More

I don't like giving poor reviews, but the experience at The Quay centre made my daughter cry and me boil with rage. After taking forever to find a place to park, we were greeted by a friendly member of staff which was great. It then went down hill. Firstly a colleague interrupted our conversation and the two members of staff... More

I hate heights and have never been climbing so this was an adrenaline rush in every sense! However thanks to the very professional help of Tammi who was our instructor - the whole group who were all novices had a great experience. Safely managed, I'd do this again as would our 8 year old daughter who had no fear whatsoever.

Me and my partner initially did a taster session here which we really enjoyed. Since then we have completed our top rope climbing course in Cornwall. We revisited The Quay two weekends ago and really enjoyed it again. Great mix of walls and levels, good bouldering rooms and friendly staff who are really helpful with any questions.

My cousins booked onto clip and climb, and myself and my husband have recently started bouldering so rang up the centre to ask whether they had bouldering, how many climbs, what level etc. We were told that there were 2 good sized bouldering rooms with loads of climbs for different levels, so decided to tag a long and have a... Had a great afternoon at Exeter Quay climbing centre, had a great session Clip & Climb with my son (9yrs old) and partner. Even though the session was full, we had plenty of opportunity to climb the different fun walls. The staff were super friendly, very helpful & great with the kids. Booking needed but well worth it! Good climbing wall for kids and grown ups too. Clip and climb is a great idea. Shame it costs extra for the leap of faith.

I wanted to start learning to climb as my dad had done so many years ago. I went straight to learning how to climb and really enjoyed the experience I had while learning to climb. I eventually started to get good at doing 'top rope' climbing and went on to lead 'lead' climbing, I was again treated to professional coaching... More

The Quay climbing centre, as well as having excellent facilities, courses, etc., have extremely experienced staff. They are particularly good with youngsters and I would recommend anybody with a child that expresses an interest to come down and give it a try. The only drawback is the limited bouldering areas, but there are other places in the area that cater... More
