If you consider the castle in isolation, it is hardly worth visiting, but when you add the location alongside a nice park etc, it is a pleasant enough place to visit.

Only ruins but interesting. I did laugh at a review by someone who compared it to a castle in Ireland! What were they expecting,? We took a detour whilst Chistmas shopping in beautiful Exeter. The castle ruins and park are lovely. You can't go further...More

This Norman Castle is in poor condition compared to the magnificent well preserved one in my home town of Carrickfergus in Northern Ireland. It is still possible to get a good idea of what it was like in the past.
