Great Views

Worth the climb up, particularly on a sunny day, views are great. Belopw the walls are grassed areas and benches to rest weary legs.

Like all ruins they have an interesting history and there was a few plaques dotted about but more would have been helpful. We enjoyed the views mostly.

Just have to say a massive thank you. The Castle was used to hold my sister's wedding reception. The family rented apartment 14 for the duration. I know that all the planning and preparation was handled excellently and all accommodations to make the whole event a huge success. The Venue manager, Chris is the embodiment of professionalism and warm and... More

Visited the castle on a beautiful sunny day. From the top part the views are fantastic. Really easy to get to from the city centre. Would recommend a visit!

I was there once , or twice, its just so plain, thats why I, even my daughter ( who went up there only not so long ago) have forgotten that we'll been... I am more interested in a table-tennis table down the steps which I was told being put there very recently...

It is quite easy to miss Exeter Castle as it has no real Main Street frontage. However, if you take the trouble, it is well worth the time.

There is a nice walk around the castle walls and you can see parts of the roman foundations, the castle was built upon parts of the Roman walls. There are info boards explaining what you can see and give a little history of the castle during its occupation.
