Well informed tour to our group of German students. Unfortunately these excellent tours are suspended in 2020 during lockdown. The Visit Exeter website suggests walks around Exeter and other lockdown tours are available.

My sister came to visit and we went on the ghosts and legends tour, which was extremely fun and dynamic. I highly recommend this tour for anyone who wants to hear some interesting stories about Exeter’s history and gain some insight on the city through time.

After living in Exeter for over forty years and having seen these guys around on many a summer's day, I finally joined for a tour last year. Very good, highly recommended, our guide was very knowledgeable and didn't just read out a script, he was good answering questions from the group as well. You may also get to visit places that you never knew existed. It goes without saying that you need to be interested in history to enjoy this, but if you do I highly recommend it .

Did the Medieval tour with Richard on a cold and wet day. Found it to be very informative and he took us to places we wouldn't have found as quickly or learned as much about. We had to dodge in and out of buildings to escape the rain and a couple did leave because of the weather. They missed the best bit with ' the house that moved ' and the anatomical clock next to the very steep medieval stepped street. The guide knew a lot of facts and was funny at times too. Plenty of photos to boost your imagination back into the period and always had an answer for any of the group's questions which padded out the information received as well. Very glad we did this tour and it is great that it is free. Well done to the Council. Thanked Richard for his time and he gave me a free bookmark ! There was no suggestion of wanting tips as is usual on some tours, got the impression it would not be allowed in any case.

Excellent guided tour yesterday with Barry. Forgotten Exeter. It was bitterly cold but, well wrapped up, I enjoyed an informative walk around around Exeter’s north-west quarter finishing at Tuckers Hall. Thoroughly recommended.
