Fun to see how this feat was such a link to the city. The "gulch" underneath was interesting to walk through and imagine what it was like when the bridge was first built.

Walking through Exeter, we came across the Iron Bridge, on the western side of the city centre. An Interesting relic of a bygone industrial age - surprised its still there. Not as impressive as most remaining iron bridges of its age - but still an...More

The iron bridge is a glorious example of Victorian architecture. I remember crossing it many times as a boy growing up in Exeter and it still retains its industrial allure. Particularly I remember November 5: walking across it at night and seeing the rockets explode...More

A great feature and became a focal point at one time with bars and restaurants. Sadly they have all gone and replaced with social housing and student flats. It is a shame that the bridge could not be a more focal point

A feat of engineering well worth seeing - up the hill towards St David's station. The pub (of same name) close by is well worth visiting, friendly/welcoming with local Exeter Brewery beers

This unique Victorian Iron Bridge is all that remains of the old industrial quarter in the St Davids area today. 30 years ago, this area was converted from an industrial wasteland to a predominantly, residential area, by the construction of new housing and purpose built...More
