I like to support the local businesses and enjoy visiting the Market each year when we stay here.
Sadly there were fewer stalls than when I visited last year, but still plenty of interesting things available to admire and purchase including crafts and food. The stall holders are very friendly and need our support. On this visit I purchased a book of St Ives recipes and some cheese.
They deserve our support, so visit on Thursday if you can.

If you are self catering lots of locally grown produce including meat and veg and eggs, preserves, too many things to mention here. Crafts and silver. Not forgetting locally made dark chocolate to die for. Cacao solids, Cacao Butter and Date Syrup 100 fairtrade, nothing artificial about it, different flavours to choose from. This dark chocolate is nothing like the 96% cocoa you buy in shops which is so bitter, this has a bite but yummy at the same time. Just look up Food of the Gods and you will see the website. You can taste before you buy. Thursdays at the Guildhall from 9:30am until 2pm I think.

This local market is held every Thursday in Guildhall (next to Tourist Info Centre), I think 10am - 1pm and showcases tasty delicacies (sweet and savoury) and hand made items.
We purchased crab samosa & onion bhaji, beautifully handmade soaps and some smoked black Olives, mmm!
There is no obligation to buy and its free entry - give it a look if you're in St Ives on a Thursday morning.

On Thursdays there is a Farmer’s Market in the Guildhall (just behind the Tourist Info Centre). It showcases local produce from cheese to gin! We picked up a very reasonable light lunch there - & were treated to some birthday cake by the friendly staff in honour of its 10th anniversary.

We call in at the Farmers Market in St Ives Guildhall every holiday we have in St Ives.
It's free entry, well laid out, and all under cover.
It offers a mixed and vibrant offering of locally grown, sourced, and made food produce.
Of notable mention would be Ruby June and her fantastic Indian Food, the Cornish Sea Salt man ( now of Nationwide fame), and the Cornish Pork Pantry, but to mention a few.
Only in residence on Thursdays each week, so make sure you plan your week accordingly....

Great to see these events on and disappointing to see so few people attending particularly when the shops in the surrounding area were so busy! Support LOCAL!! Bought some amazing samosas and some tasty pastries.

I love farmers markets as they help you get a flavour of, and understand a place. The St. Ives one is small, friendly and has a great range of locally produced foods. I have stayed in St. Ives on a couple of occasions and make a point of not missing the market, and of course spending money there to support local business but most importantly enjoy what has been produced. Everything is of a really high standard here and The Guildhall does provide an ideal environment whatever the weather.

It is held very Thursday next to Tourist Information Centre. (Down the side street next to Wetherspoons Hain Line)
Plenty of local suppliers with a variety of fresh produce and other goods, but mostly food. I purchased some fresh crab which I thoroughly enjoyed but there were a few pieces of shell amongst the meat.
Some other items for sale included St Ives Gin, Kitting/Crochet goods, Jam’s & chutneys, plants and wooden gifts.

Plenty of stalls sells goods from fresh food, locally made produce, plants, knitware, wood turned items, Gin and much more. The sellers are very friendly and there is no pressure to make a purchase, plus it’s free entry.
Don’t just wait for it to rain before visiting or you may miss out on making a purchase.

I gone every time when I'm down in st Ives. The variety and quality of the produce on sale is outstanding. What's is also nice is that there are a lot of familiar faces of sellers who some how remember you each year Ive come. You get an amazing sense of community when you go, even when there are new stall holders.
If you're in St Ives, you should really make a point and go. I recommend the crab samosas (which sell out pretty fast since they are so good), dolmades from the olive stall, and the fresh crab from the local fish monger. Its on every Thursday at the guild hall x
