The best beach in St Ives for families - enclosed, gently sloping beach, clear sea, often visited by sea lions and the odd dolphin, with a takeaway cafe plus restaurant and toilet facilities. The Island car park sits just above the beach.

Lovely little sheltered beach, not far from the harbour, toilets only 100 yards up the beach next to the cafe, so absolutely perfect for people with young families.

Lovely beach with good facilities. Beach is spotless with lifeguards, a cafe/bar/restaurant, free toilets, surf schools and hire shop for deckchairs, surf boards etc. Huge bay suitable for children and surfers alike just beware the seagulls if you have food !

This is a lovely beach, if you are lucky enough to visit on a quiet day it is very relaxing and you could be tricked in to thinking you were anywhere in the Mediterranean. There is a little cafe where you can get snacks from and I have been lucky enough to see seals there on more than one occasion.

This is a small beach, more protected than the other St Ives beaches we visited and with the water perhaps getting a bit deeper closer to shore. That said, it looked very safe and seemed to be popular with families. Both sand and water quality excellent. Nice and close to centre of town, but don't try to drive!

Seriously beautiful. St Ives has got the most beautiful beaches in the UK. A definite must see when one visits Cornwall.

Lovely small beach. Toilets and all town's facilities nearby. Don't forget to set your satnav, driving in St Ives is a nightmare.

This is a small, friendly restaurant and you need to book. The waiting staff are friendly, the restaurant is clean and neat and the food is very good - especially the deserts. We went 2 out of 3 nights it was so good.

on the day we visited the beach was being well used by lots of families with younger children all enjoying the great weather, the visit of a pod of dolphins close to the shoreline made it even more magical, The beach was lovely and clean and the cafe offered food and drink at reasonable prices and the picnic tables with... This beach is beautiful and very sheltered. It has a café and ice cream shop. People with limited mobility may struggle here as there is a very long steep hill to get on and off the beach. Also the toilets are located at the top of the hill. The only downside is u can not eat anything on the beach... More
