Stunning Beach!
Jul 2021
Good beach with lovely soft sand and spotless clean. Food and drink right on the beach with toilets just up the (steep) slope.
Smaller than some of the other beaches in St Ives but just as good!.

My Favourite beach in St Ives
Jun 2021
A small secluded beach. Can get busy, but great at the end of the day when most of the tourists have gone back to their accommodation. Good choice of food/drinks available at the cafe on the beach.

Sheltered, Sandy beach
Apr 2021 • Family
Not so rough waves, sheltered from the worst winds and soft sands make this ideal for young children and also adults wanting a bit of peace and quiet. There is a cafe at the top doing food, ice cream and drinks and toilets at the top of the hill.

Picturesque, compact and family friendly. A local gem
Mar 2021 • Family
Great sized, beautiful beach that was perfect for a young family. Less busy that other St Ives beaches and has a lovely cafe. Close to the town centre, Tate and Harbour it is worth seeking out. This was my fourth visit to St Ives and my first to this beach.

Highlights were we spotted a seal there on our first trip and it was a beautiful, quiet place to breakfast before leaving our holiday in the town.

Only downside is the Island Carpark behind was impossible to get parked in (we tried hourly over two nights as were staying locally - only time we found a space was at 6am!)

A small and sheltered beach
Oct 2020 • Friends
Porthgwidden Beach is a small and sheltered beach set between Bamaluz Beach and The Island-Pendinas. The white beach huts with the primary coloured doors are a feature of the beach. It is a cosy place but like everything in the area it gets busy as a consequence but still worth a visit.

Cute sheltered beach
Oct 2020
Unlike its big brother neighbouring beaches, Porthminster and Porthmeor, Porthgwidden is very sheltered and feels like stepping back in time with beach huts inset into the back wall, jumbo rocks on each side as the beach slopes to the sea, and familiies enjoying simple bucket-and-spade pleasures

Wrap up warm to visit this spot but breathtaking directly opposite the Tate. The Porthwidden Beach Cafe was excellant. In the warm listening to the crashing waves.

Lovely town beach for a seaside swim to avoid St Ives crowds!
Sep 2020 • Family
Visited St Ives on a sunny day and swam at the beach after seeking out lunch at local bakery as way to avoid the crowds in the town. Sand was clean and golden...sea was blue and cold but really refreshing once you got swimming! Lovely little beach and walk on the headland above it.
