Heard about this microbrewery that opened at 4 in the afternoons towards the end of the week. What a great place, mixture of locals and and inquisitive tourists in a small intimate pub that offers great beers and ciders (Rhubarb!) nuts and crisps. Nothing else except a a really great atmosphere and a wonderful place to talk and share stories with people you're sitting next to.

Came in at 4.15pm on a November Thursday, a quarter hour after opening and it was nearly full. Seemed to be 2/3 regular locals and a few visitors triggered by guide books and sites. Good selection of well kept ales and ‘coders’ fairly priced. Great pity that we were only in St Ives for the day and had a long evening journey home. We would have stayed for more than 3 and entered further into the spirit of the place. Our dog seemed to enjoy himself fully as well. If you’re in St Ives and enjoy good traditional booze with an affable tolerant crowd then there is nowhere better in the town.

Friendly staff and fantastic selection of ales and ciders. A great spot for a quiet pint away from the hustle and bustle.

Hiking around Cornwall with my daughter and spent a night in St. Ives, I stumbled across this place by accident and must say it was the best drinking establishment of the trip. Real flavourful Cornish Ales and friendly bar staff, give it a try, you won't be disappointed .

This place is accessed from the harbour front, down an alley past some bins. However, once inside you're met with a good selection of ales that are reasonably priced and above all, extremely good and kept well. You'll not find a better beer in and around St Ives.

Great little boozer tucked away off the main strip in St Ives. some great local beers on tap including a lovely 5.2% porter from Treen brewery. Also had a pilsner from Pipeline brewery. respect! will go back when next in Cornwall.

Simply amazing. Quirky, rustic, great local beers and ciders, friendly staff, full of characters. Love it! My kind of ale house!

Superb venue away from harbour tourist hustle. The kind of place you could lose yourself in for hours. A range of beers that rotates every day or so. Staff couldn't be friendlier, guiding you through the cask options. If you like well kept beer then you this is the best St Ives has to offer.

We spent a pleasant few hours in this little bar, Lewis the manager was very friendly and helpful, the bar is pretty small but has a really chilled atmosphere, great choice of ales, we’ve booked to go again, can’t wait! Definitely worth booking a table as lots of people turned away while we were there.

I was exhibiting at the Salthouse gallery in St. Ives and wanted to go to a few bars in the evening as I was staying on my own. After turning up at the pilchard press I never ventured anywhere else for the rest of the week. I was made to feel not only welcome, but a real friend. Lewis the barman I met first is a lovely chap, as are Lisa and Jim. Nick the owner was also really welcoming and invited me to sit with him realising I was flying solo!

The beer on offer was really good, including a Quantock QPA (citrusy ipa) a canned Neipa and a really interesting plum stout. Not to mention a stunning rhubarb cider!

For me this place is one of the key reasons I really fell in love with St. Ives.

Thanks again to all the staff.
