    World famous surfing beach.
Fistral is famous for its surf and many surfers use it. It is a really long, flat beach and is also family friendly. Great beach for shell collecting and plenty of rocks holding secret rock pools. Lots of amenities. Really lovely beach.

    Just drove through
We headed down to car park which was on beach front. Car park was full so we decided to head back, as we were picking our daughter up. But what we saw of it the place looked nice. Very busy as the weather was good. Would probably visit again

    Must go to beach
We love this beach so much. My 11yr old daughter wants to live there when she’s older. Absolutely amazing time there. Beautiful beach, blue water. What more can you ask for other than hot days.

    Incredible beach with hardworking lifeguards!
Fantastic beach, lifeguards work incredibly hard to ensure the safety of everyone - the waves are huge which is great for surfing (or body boarding) but it was shocking the amount of people who ignored the flags. Everywhere in cornwall seems dog friendly but this beach is huge so even when busy it wasn't a problem for us. Lovely sand and just a great beach!

    Excellent.
Great beach Massive waves the sea did go deep Suddenly quite close to shore. Life guards on the ball and keeping everyone in the right places. My husband and kids hired wetsuits and body boards and loved it.

Happy days with all the family including the dog
I visit cornwall a few times a year love the place especially Fistral beach and crantock beach, as there is something for everybody including dogs! Although I can say some dog owners give us a bad reputation. Fistral beach is expansive and plenty of room, what happens is everybody tries to find a spot close to the facilities and carpark making it feel congested and during the school hols well what can I say!

    A pure delight
I always love this beach and in October it's lovely to see the dogs enjoying it too. The beach was a little busy and there were surfers at the far side. A lovely clean beach with plenty of walks nearby.

Nice beach but was very busy
We visited here whilst holidaying down in Cornwall. Upon arrival the beach was quite busy and we drove a while looking for somewhere to park. We spent a good few hours here, weather was a slight breeze but the sun was out. We brought food with us so cannot comment on the food places. Toilets were clean and not too far to walk. I would visit here again but in my opinion Crantock beach is the best beach we are yet to have been to down this area. Parking was £8.50 so wasnt cheap for the few hours we spent here but there didnt seem to be anywhere else to park much cheaper.

    Favourite UK beach
Ive been coming to this beach for years and have always loved it! The vibes on this beach are unreal, surrounded by surfers, bars and camper vans! Every visit to this beach has been amazing. It’s dog friendly and the safety flags are always out for people in the sea so it feels very safe. The bars are right on the beach and are lovely to sit at in the evenings! My boyfriend had surfing lessons on this beach and highly enjoyed his surfing experience. Highly recommended for families and people looking to give surfing a go.

Arrived, parked, changed and paid for ticket prior to heading down to the beach. Got back to the car in good time and on trying to leave were blocked in due to the bottle neck of cars waiting for spaces and narrow road (not wide enough for two cars to pass easily).
Your car is logged by camera on entry and exit, if your ticket time does not match to those timings then expect a fine - happy birthday to me!
Underhand system designed to trap you. Recommend parking up a bit further away but in a council designated spot as they are allowing free parking until 17 May 21. If you're surfing and Fistral is working there will be better breaks up the coast in the same conditions so no need to risk it. The lesson - avoid 'Initial Parking' sites.
Beach is lovely, expect crowds and my 1* rating is specifically due to Initial Parking's exploitative business model.

The beach itself is beautiful, however the parking is a nightmare. I have now been charged plus £100 for not being able to get the app to work on my phone quickly enough after my first ticket (which I paid by cash) had ran out. The charge is for the time it took for me to find out the shops were cashless (a sign might have helped) and put the app on my phone and purchase more parking. I was not trying to avoid paying, I literally couldn't get it to work, the signal was so bad. The guy at the council said that the parking company are aware of the difficulty in phone signal and that they seem to be being using it to their advantage. He also said how badly it was affecting the local tourism but it was out of their hands. If you want to appeal you will get charged an extra £40 for the privilege and when they finally decide that it's just tough luck, neither the link they give you to seek further advice or the link to pay will work so no doubt they will forward my fine to a debt collector, racking up further fees, while conveniently not responding to my emails asking for help on what to do. Due to my health conditions, I had had to shield because of Covid and had not left the house for months. This was our first (and to date, our last) outing since the pandemic started. Just a few hours out has turned into a nightmare. I will not visit again.

Very disappointed with all 6 of our meals here today, 18th June 2021. After waiting 20 minutes for service we were then told that a drinks menu could only be found on the restaurant app, which again took another 20 minutes to download due to a bad WiFi signal in the area. When the food finally arrived the chips were undercooked, the fish batter was so dark it looked like it had been sunbathing on the beach and the burger just looked liked it had been over cooked and places on hot hold for a week. Then to expect to pay an extra £1.50 for a portion of tartar sauce which tasted like gone off yoghurt was a joke. Rick you need to sort this restaurant out, we definitely won’t be back.

Having seen surf beaches in Hawaii and Australia, was expecting to see spectacular surfing at this beach. Plenty of people on boards today but even I, never surfed before, could manage these waters. The beach itself was nice but not memorable. Parking charges were the highest of any of the beaches we've visited this Cornwall holiday and now starting to worry might be hit with a parking charge, even though not done anything different than at any other car park.

Stopped by and spent nearly £15 in the cafe on lunch. We decided to quickly eat in the car before leaving and a week later received a parking charge for £100.

The owners were totally disinterested in helping with this excessive charge (they can help as the landowner and employer of the parking company).

I completely understand the need to deter people taking liberties at such a busy and popular location but we were visiting out of season, the car park was ~25% full, I spent money there and was only there for about half an hour.

We have tried to spend money at local businesses during this difficult time but we definitely won't be back to this one.

Fistral beach Parking warning - parking is only FREE AFTER 1830hrs - even if you do not go past the roundabout and use the parking bays on the road down you still have to pay.
Number plate recognition at the entrance and exit, machines often not working so be prepared to pay by phone.
£60 pound fine for arriving at 1805 and leaving at 1905 in the dark and wrongly assuming parking was free!

Shocking parking at the beach front. Too conjested to enter or exit safely. I recieved a fine.Took me almost 30mins to leave the site.Anpr cameras at the gate so the meter
is running the second you enter. £100 automatic fine for an 18 min over stay thanks !. 10mins from entering you need to have a ticket or its £100 fine, You have 10 mins to leave, now way to leave that car park in 10mins on a busy day. If you dont find a space and need to que again too leave guess what? its a £100 fine. Terrible place.

Yes you have to be careful with the car parking - get a ticket ASAP and don't chance it when it runs out but the views, sand and water are absolutely worth it.
It will get crowded early on summer days but for me the filled sunsets are the best time to be there. Time in the water followed by relaxing on the beach, the rocks or in the bar.
When the showers do reopen they are great for rinsing off after being out in the water.
So many great days and nights spent here.

Clearly this is the place for surfers and water sports. I personally would not recommend if you just want a relaxing beach day, I would recommend going to an alternate beach. The area where food, drinks, goods are sold is quite chaotic and poorly managed particularly as we visited before Covid restrictions were lifted on the 19th July.
