Outstanding Sunday dinner. We love a Sunday roast and every time we eat out there’s never enough gravy but even before our food was on the table they bought a big boat of it out. Service was brilliant, a young lady took care of us and she went about & beyond to accommodate us as we had a nervous dog with us so she made sure no dogs were around us. Desserts were more the generous. Definitely worth a visit and a good high around the area.

Very organised during the covert pandemic. The food was very reasonably priced helped by the fact they were doing the Eat out to help out deal!
The landlord was very friendly, service was prompt. we will definitely use this place again. Can recommend the lasagne!

I stayed at the Ship on a Saturday in November so very much out of season and a flying visit. Location wise it’s a stone’s throw from the front and from pretty much everything else in Looe (which isn’t large). The Ship is a pub and hence don’t expect hotel standards. The pub itself is large and friendly and while it does not have lots in the way of frills, the food is hearty pub fair. The rooms are a bit quirky and rather unusual but clean and well equipped. I could not fault the standards. The staff are also super friendly and could not be more helpful. It was a Saturday night and I will warn you it’s very noisy until very late in the early hours. It is also quite difficult to ignore louder conversations in other rooms.

Walked very friendly staff, happy to put more water in dog bowl. We asked about food, just stopped we were told.
So drank up and went to Golden Guinea as suggested. Unfortunately they would not serve us as our dog was to big and couldn’t fit under table😮
So we went to a shop nearby and bought a pastie each and some extras.
I thought I would go the Ship and ask if we can take out food in and drink their beer, I was told no we can’t.
Seems strange what harm and more revenue from more drinks bought.

Dirty and Uninviting pub. Tables sticky. We ordered Natchos for the children and emphasised “no jalapeño “. True to their word there were no Jalapeños but the dish was covered in hot cheesy Chilli sauce. My gammon steak was served on a tea plate hoping to make the meal appear bigger. It was tough and small. It was a poor canteen meal. Never again.

I always pop into this pub when in Looe. It’s a great pub sadly the food lets it down . It is basically pub grub but I feel it’s over priced . I had fish cakes and chose salad not chips and peas . I paid the same price and felt it was over priced for what I received .

We ate at The Ship twice during a stay in Looe. The food was good pub food and really nice. We also had a few drinks while we were at it, a decent choice available.
The staff were friendly and quite funny with it whilst being very 'on the ball' with the Covid thing, lots of table cleaning and a 'track and trace' in place.
The place could do with a little bit of a makeover but it's still a good pub.

We used to go here when we first arrived in Looe for lunch, but only if we could get in as it was so busy. Earlier in the year it was open but due to Covid restrictions almost empty, but still good. So it is great to see it back to being busy! Come up to the bar and order, great friendly staff, great reasonably priced food and dog friendly. Very relaxed atmosphere.

Covid19 restrictions lifted but some pubs, thank goodness, still put in some limitations. The Ship being one of these pubs. Euro on TV this night so places were limited. At the door the young man said he would find us a table but not near the screen. I just wanted a few pints so it was no problem. Table service was very quick and friendly. Contactless payment. All perfect. A great old fashioned pub. Loved it.

Most pubs in Looe seem to be on the small side. The Ship Inn is an exception with a selection of rooms to sit in and plenty of tables available in the evening when we were there. Friendly staff. Good Tribute Ale. They also appear to serve reasonable pub food, though we didn’t sample any. ‘
