If like us you have come to Chester to enjoy the history and witness all there is from its earliest time, this is the place to start. The volunteer was inspiring and engaging about the guided walks, the brief pamphlets written (worth reading £1 each). A visit to this place enabled us to make the very best of our brief 3 day visit to Chester.

The Information center is the site for tours of the city. There are city walking tours as well as tours of the Medieval row houses, city walls, and other attractions. A good source for information on Chester.

We had just arrived at Chester and went to the visitor Center with a general curiosity of what should we do in Chester. There was a chap talking about walking tours he showed us to MaryAnn who was outside the information Center. Walking tours leave here on a timed bases with different tour guides, times known to tourist staff not listed to see, or at least we saw no advert/information about them. The price was about 8 gbp. This tour was great and we are so glad we stumbled upon it. Without spoiling the information she knew her stuff and we learnt a lot. The walk was about 1hr 30 mins. I think we ended up little bit longer. I would highly recommend this tour, there are different themes we went on general Chester. Mary Ann also has a sense of humour with dishing out the knowledge.

I had walked with backpack from the train station with the thought that this office would help me find a room and I was exhausted. There were several staff members who did not seem to be helping anyone else and when I asked for hotel help they just handed me a sheet with hotels and phone #'s though I told them I didn't have any mobile and hoped they would direct me or at least call for me. Evidently my request was shocking and they pretty much ignored me so I left. My impression is that these ladies did not like their jobs and certainly didn't intend to help people. Even a little city map wasn't free, let alone any helpful advice. I recommend the info staff in the train station if you want help - not even their job but they did it better than the tourist office.

Chester Visitor Information Centre is a great starting point to find out about upcoming events in Chester ,lots of great info can be gleamed from their very helpful staff but what really sets this information centre apart is the stunning building its housed in.
Housed in the wonderful Town Hall , an absolutely amazing looking building constructed between 1864 - 1869 and built in the Gothic Revival style of architecture that is so pleasing on the eye, a building that dominates Northgate Street.
A great information centre housed in a stunning looking building and most definitely well worth checking out if your in the area or planning a trip to Chester.

I called in to the visitor center, with my friends, on Wednesday, asking about cycling in the area, the young lady with blond hair and glasses, was very helpful and knowledgeable about the cycle routes. We where given a Flintshire, Dee coastal map and Chester network map, and she told us about the best areas to visit. We will continue our journey today, thank you

Excellent service and really useful and helpful, relevant information from Sophie, Irinia and Miriam. The outlet was well presented and very organised and we even purchased a Chester gift card to spend at any of a number of outlets in Chester. Highly recommended and well worth a visit when discovering and exploring Chester.

The information centre is located in the city centre, and provide all the information you need to know to visit the city.
They have free maps, leaflets, brochures about the events, vouchers, and the staff is very helpful.
You can buy your tickets for guided tours and several tourist attraction (cruiseboats, zoo, bus tour, cinema etc.). They also do national express tickets, which is useful when you need to reach Manchester airport.
They also have a gift shop, which is something hard to find in the city! I bought some lovely postcards and mugs.

Our first port of call was to thetouristb information. Really helpful and welcoming . We did the walking tour and Roman soldier tours as a result of our visit . Information displayed about the cathedral was really useful and I attended a wonderful Sunday choral evensong . Even our dogs were given a drink. Thankyou
