Walking down by the river is a very peaceful and calming way to pass the time. There are cafes and restaurants if you want to treat yourself, seats if you want to rest or relax and a variety of boats to either hire or hitch a ride on. In the summer the small bandstand hosts a selection of musical concerts.... More

Great place to go for a stroll on a dry day - Ice cream - boat trips - brass bands. Lovely traditional feel about it. Recommend the half hour cruise.

Whilst walking along the Dee the music from the bandstand fills the air. You walk past budding artists selling their ware. It's reminiscent of Paris but not quite. Rowers pitching against each other to get to the final line, alongside families on mini rowing boats, with the 'Lady Diane' boat close by taking tourists along our favourite river. Young children... There is nothing better than to take a stroll by the River Dee and watch the canoeists or take a little cruise on one of the river boats and on your return enjoy an ice cream or enjoy a delicious meal and drink at one of the riverside cafes and listen to some music that may be playing by a... Great for a picnic and relaxing by the water, you can even feed the birds. Plenty of shopping is optional.

We walked our dog along the river and across the fields to the local marina. The views of the outskirts of the city were lovely and it is a delightful easy walk.

I have strolled around the river on a few occasions before doing a bit of shopping taking in the beauty and the sound of the water flowing through the river.

We walked The Walls around the city of Chester. The view of the River Dee was amazing from The Walls. You can also descend from The Walls and walk along the riverside.

The River Dee has lots going on from boat trips for 30 mins or 2 hours or hire a motor boat, rowing boat or pedalo and see the River for yourself. Prices are fair and lots to see along the way. Be as athletic or as lazy as you wish.
