Excellent zoo but make sure you get your money's worth by staying the whole day. Pricey to get in. Book ahead and on-line to get a saving. Plenty of picnic places. Animal exhibits great. Butterfly's house and bat cave a must see. Good conservation messages across the site.

This was our first trip as a family to Chester Zoo; and it was a total success. We arrived just after 10 and walked straight in. We made a decision to head to the rhinos and meerkat first as everyone else headed anticlockwise to the elephants. This really paid off as we were rarely troubled by crowds as we were... More

Booked tickets ahead planning to go the following day. On looking at the tickets realised that the tickets could be used any day over the next couple of weeks so could have postponed the visit if the weather was bad. We were already on our way in pouring rain so carried on to visit. First stop was to buy rain... More

This zoo has lots of different types of creatures to explore. It also has a butterfly house and a bat walk through. The staff were very friendly and managed to find our photo even when we had lost the wristband. I took a star off for the extra charge for the monorail. I think the entry fee should include the... Firstly. You do need a whole day here. So much to see. We arrived just as the gates were opening at 10am and did not leave till just after they shut at 6pm. Entry seems a bit expensive, but after you've been there for the day you realise that it's actually really good value.Take a decent camera with a zoom... More

We came here with great expectations and this place doesn't disappoint. From the happy smiley staff (on a wet and rainy day) to what appeared to be a very set of happy and content animals. The layout is great, and the enclosures make you feel like the animals are happy and well looked after. Our little one loved every minute... More
