Great way to get some exercise, see the city and learn some history ( and you might see some horse racing on the way!) Really fascinating walk and easy to drop down into the town for food and drinks.

Great way of seeing the city from on high, but if you want to explore there's lots of going up and down steep steps!

We loved walking the walls. The views are amazing. Chester is like a mini York but with even more history.

Sorry for the delay in replying. The wall is free and open at all times. No guided tour but plaques explaining local sights and information at various points along the wall. The castle keep is free to to look around.

Loads of car parks in the centre, Grosvenor Hotel car park entrance - 1 mins to walls. Law Courts / river area car parks - 1 mins to wall. Race course / Market area car parks (lots of them) - 1 mins to walks - hope this helps
