Walking back into the city centre, stopped off at the Wesley Church Centre.
Aimed more for locals, the staff were still happy for us to look around.
Local craft activities.
Worth a look.

My twin brother Stephen and I were heading to The Marlborough Arms Pub and on this street the pub is found on is Wesley Church Centre ,an evocative looking structure, never ventured inside but I must say that I loved the look of this building, a great piece of architecture, very photogenic indeed, made for some great photographic opportunities and is most definitely well worth checking out if your planning a trip to Chester and easy to locate along St John Street.

There was a sign on the walk round the Walls suggesting you had coffee in the Wesley Church Centre. You have to walk round the building and enter on St John's Street. We're certainly glad we went there since it was very pleasant both for the coffee, the little free trade shop and the visit to the church. Prices were cheap, staff were really friendly and wanting to chat, and it was a very good experience.

I visited for coffee and cake.
I’ve never noticed this venue before, but it was a good cup of coffee, I’ll definitely visit again.

The Wesley Chapel cafe is an oasis of calm in the centre of Chester. Lovely homemade snacks including soup, sandwiches, cake. The church has recently been refurbished and as well as services has concerts and exhibitions. Community activities, food bank and child-friendly area. True caring Christianity.

If you love homemade scones and cake then this is the place to visit. They also do a meal deal here for adults for £5 which consists of any sandwich any cake with either a tea or coffee. On another note this is also a child friendly place where there is a children's corner which has toys for the children to play with. Also they do a lunch deal for children which is good value as well. If you love bacon baps on homemade baps then this is the place to come in and order one. All food and drink is very reasonably priced. The hot food dishes that they serve are available from 10am till 1.30pm. After 1.30pm they can do toasted teacakes, cake and drinks this is due to the staff been limited. If visiting Chester for the day or longer I suggest you come and try the food at this peaceful place.

Is the cafe open during the week or only on a Saturday?
