We had been some years ago but several exhibits have changed. Wheelchairs are now provided on both floors with a connecting stair lift which one of us used. Exhibits tracing Ely and the Fens over the centuries all most absorbing and well presented in the limited space available. Recommend to all visitors to Ely whether or not interested in history.... A very good local Museum as it portrays the earlier life of residents of Ely and has lots of artifacts that are interesting

Not much to look at from the outside, but exhibits inside are well laid out, and the narrative follows themes well. The role of the fens and their draining, and the effects on which industries became viable or not viable.

This museum tells about the history of life in the fens, and is on 2 floors with a variety of displays and videos. There are toilets, and there are eating opportunities nearby.

Cracking little local museum. Right from the first display all the way through to the last, the museum was packed with local interest. Yes it's a small provincial museum so you'd not spend much more than 2 hours. However, it was well worth the time to explore each exhibit. Particularly well worth noting is the number of exhibits you can... More

From the outside this museum is small but inside it is an Aladdin's Cave. A history of Ely and exhibits aplenty. Easily spend a couple of hours going through the various rooms. There is a stair lift for those people who have difficulty climbing the stairs.

This little gem is most definitely worth a visit if you're in Ely. It's only small but it packs in plenty of information about the town and its history over the years.

not the largest museum - but interesting, passed an hour looking around here, preferred the Cromwell Museum, but easy enough to visit both in an afternoon
