Six Bells

Six Bells, Cambridge: Address, Phone Number, Six Bells Reviews: 3.5/5

About
The Six Bells is a back street local pub with something for everyone. We have five real ales, lagers, ciders, wines, spirits, minerals and possibly the best Guinness in town. We've got a pool table, dartboard, jukebox and beer garden. Food served every day from 12 to 9 except Sunday when it's until 5pm. Live music most weekends.

Very Traditional Pub
May 2019 • Friends
I regularly go in this pub to have a nice beer. Doesn't offer a big choice of beers because it is a small pub, but it is the perfect place to meet some friends.

Sometimes they organize some meetings, like music jams and language swaps.

A friend of mine once told me that he used to come at this pub when he was much younger, and that in 20 years it barely changed.

Every sunday they make the Sunday roast which very good. They also make Pimm's. Both are very tranditional things that should definitely try if you are in Cambridge

So totally suggested, don't expect a huge place and go with your friends

Traditional and quaint

This is one of my very favourite pubs in all that exist on the Mill Road stretch. The interior is very traditional and there’s a real classic pub feel. There is a Quiz Night on Mondays and live music can often be found here on Fridays or Saturdays. The pub has free Wi-Fi and a good selection of beers and ales on draught.

The microwave works

What a disappointment. I took my student daughter for Sunday lunch and thought we would try this pub as it was closest to her accommodation. We were not quite the only people in the place but it was very very quiet. We should have taken this as a sign on a Sunday lunchtime but we ordered the roasts and some expensive draught diet cokes. There were no smells of cooking wafting from the kitchen but we heard the ping of the microwave. We were presented with 2 plates of mediocre food. I had 2 slices of over cooked beef and my daughter had an anaemic chicken breast which looked like it had been boiled ( not roasted) and didn't even come with stuffing. The microwaved veg which accompanied it were ok and the selection good except for the lumpy mashed potato. We received a jug of gravy which I can only think was instant granules - it was ok but seemed strange to have the same gravy for both chicken and beef roast dinners. Seriously disappointing meal and will not be going back.

Lovely tradition pub.

It was very quiet when we went in, but it is a very traditional pub of the sort you don't really see anymore. Basic selection of drinks and it does do food, although we didn't try any on this occasion.

Don't be fooled by the small front bar...
Stopped in to meet some friends after work for a quick pint. The best way to describe The Six Bells is "typical neighbourhood pub".

Watch out, it's cash only so make sure you stop by the ATM on your way.
