I have been living with my family in Cambridge for nearly sixteen years and it is the only place where food is of incredible good quality and absolutely perfectly cooked. I had a fantastic onion soup, not too liquid, not too cheesy, not too salty just perfect. My daughter had a simply perfect cooked fillet of beef and my husband an incredible tasty lamb. Every single taste was right without superimposing with the rest. Desserts were also incredible. I was so happy that we had found a great chef. We will come back many times either at the restaurant or in the pub or in the space outside which should open soon. The service was also very nice and friendly;

Came in for Sunday lunch with friends, there are several pubs with 2 miles that offering the same service, we feel that this venue is the one of choice, excellent value and fabulous food and very generously served, excellent service from Sarah and kaiden, spoke to the manager about my experience will highly recommended will be returning shortly with friends.

Very old fashioned country village pub off the beaten track.Friendly staff & excellent steak & ale pie(the fish & chips were equally good)-not a big menu(black-board)but anyone who cooks vegetables as well as this deserves high praise,however how one gets these vegetables on the far two small base plate was beyond us!! Service is not fast & one would worry if they were busy .Overall worthy of further exploration,particularly as they have a good & genuine skittle game!

great village pub,went as a party of 4 for sunday lunch 3 choices of meats. lamb beef pork, all cooked to perfection , 2 sizes of roast to choose from.. the smaller size being plentiful with a good mix of vegetables again cooked to perfection. we will return... recommend booking as although we had booked b 4 hand our table was still in use, and the pub was full (guess there is no chance if you just turned up!)

Walking along the river from Cambridge City centre to the village of Granchester is a lovely walk whatever the weather, especially when you end up at a nice little pub like this. We ordered burgers and sausage baguettes which all tasted great. For the first time ever we managed to get the red leather seats in the corner which made is enjoy our experience more. The staff were friendly too.

It is comforting sometimes to visit somewhere after many years and find very little has changed. That old red leather chair and the sofa were where we sat thirty odd - make that forty - years ago. Tucked into a lovely cottage pie and a pint!

Some associates took us to the Green Man for lunch during a business trip to the area. A wild ride through narrow country roads ended in nice quiet village - the kind of place where you would want to retire and never leave. There in the center of the village is the Green Man - an old manor house that dates back to 1253. Inside is classic English Pub - where you come in for lunch and stay the afternoon. We all ordered lunch and the portions were huge (dinner size and beyond); all freshly made and delicious! Daily specials written a chalk board, great service and several nice ales & beers on tap. I had a daily sandwich special and could not eat it all - so I packed it up for dinner at the airport. This is definite 'go back to place' - for lunch, dinner, or to just hang out and talk.
