All along the river around Cambridge, I felt that I could have been in Italy. I think it was the bridges and the punts echoing Venice. The surrounding architecture isn't Italian but the light stone again brings those echoes. As you might expect a nice sunny day makes a real difference, especially out towards the Fen Causeway.. For me, the... More

Its a narrow river, cam. Seems more like a canal. Amazing views on both sides.. But punting is definitely something that one must experience .

The River Cam is a beautiful on any day. In the Summer you will find people laughing and having fun in their punts, couples, families walking alongside the river taken everything in.

Punting on the river is great fun, but the river is very busy with professional punters taking groups of tourists up and down the river so unless you are experienced i would suggest joining a tour instead of going solo.

Although the weather was cold, it was dry. Blankets and hot water bottles were provided, which was great. Excellent commentary with amusing anecdotes.

Cambridge is a beautiful place but I was surprised how inaccessible it is unless you pay to enter the university buildings.there are not really any places you can sit on a bench and enjoy the river.it seems as you walk through Cambridge you have to weave in and out a lot unless you pay.i was a bit disappointed by this,I... if you visit Cambridge you must punting on the Cam river. You will be able to see the city from the river and see the different bridge where only one is made with wood. And if you are with your partner it is very romantic.

We went punting as did hundreds of other people. Think learner drivers and the added complication of the flow of the river. Really beautiful buildings lining the river and great fun trying punting

Great fun for a guide or self punting (punting is harder than it looks if you haven't tried before) Unique and amazing views of Cambridge and the university. An absolute must if you haven't been to Cambridge before. Even if you have been to Cambridge it's a great way to spend a sunny afternoon!
