Recently visited for an afternoon show to find screening cancelled due to a corrupt file... After a little questioning the duty manager arrived and was happy to help and even offered complimentary tickets as a gesture of good will along with allowing our seating at a later showing. An example of going above the call of duty in the circumstance... More

Lovely cinema with 3 screens, all quite small and all very comfortable. Nice feature is that you can take alcoholic drinks into the theatre itself - in proper "glass" glasses. Clientele tends to be a bit more upmarket than the typical multi-plex, which means that there aren't so many crinkly sweet packets and people talking through the film - yes,... More

This was our first visit to the Picture House of Cambridge and we will certainly return. The selection of snacks and drinks was a welcome change from the norm. Yes, popcorn was available but there was a broad variety of healthy (and not so healthy!) alternatives and the option of hot and cold drinks and nonacolhohlic/alcoholic beverages. The seats in... Unable to get a table at the Varsity we came here only to find it virtually empty. A small but interesting menu ticked all the boxes and the service was pleasant and helpful. Everything tasted freshly cooked and came piping hot. Moreover it cost buttons, helped by our 10% membership discounts. We stayed for ages and were under no pressure... More

I gave the bar food a 5 star rating last year. Great snacks, especially the chilli, at great prices (£5 for chilli and chips). This year, prices have doubled and the chilli has been re-invented as chunks of of beef in a mildly spicy, watery liquid for £11 - so disappointing.

Always a pleasure to come here to see s movie. Nice environment, shows films that the bigger cinemas don't bother with. Comfortable seating, friendly staff. Nothing to complain about here. Handy to for Cambridge shopping as it is right there in the town. Give it a try.

A very, very welcome alternative to the "we're in the popcorn sales business not the film business" approach of those dreadful hypermarket movie chains that have corrupted our culture. This place attracts a funky, eclectic crowd. They show a real mix of current stock and classics and re-emphasise the "going out for an evening" aspect of cinema going namely, meet... More

We joined last year. We both love world cinema and theatre screenings so is is a fab choice for people who like to sit in comfort and watch great films. The cafe is a bit disorganised so getting a coffee can take a while, but it largely seems to be staffed by students who are polite. The only thing I... More

Very disappointing to find the menus seems to have shrunk. Nothing distinctive on the lunchtime menu, hot dog and butternut squash soup not even any sandwiches. A great cinema, but the cafe has always been the iceing on the cake, a lovely atmosphere and a good place to meet up with friends. Sad.
