Never a good thing to re-visit but we were not at all disappointed. The same scenes of weeping willows amid the most gorgeous of architecture (except for the couple of blocks of modernity) at the backs of Cambridge - just as beautiful and serene guided by a knowledgeable Cambridge local boy, Laurence. We had a chauffeured punt for a delightful... More

I decided to show my 11 year old daughter the best views of Cambridge on the 17 July like hundreds of thousands of people have done over the last 800 years. It must be one of those 'When in Rome' moments, as local habitats, students and tourists alike always enjoy a lazy hour or hours on the River Cam. I... More

Marco our punting guide was great, he had extensive knowledge of the history of Cambridge and the Colleges, and he could steer a punt! Can't praise Granta Boat & Punt Co enough for a great experience, it's not cheap but a definite must do especially with champagne.

My husband and I actually rented a boat from another company on the river who were fabulous - but actually came across a couple of the Granta boating staff along the river. We had never punted before and were in Cambridge for a couple of days having some time just together before our baby is due in September. My husband... More

Ouch! I very much doubt this was one of our crew. Perhaps you could PM and provide more details? More

This company has a large number of punts for hire. The cost is £24 an hour (not so bad when I recall that they cost around £10 an hour fifty years ago). Once on board, you should head for the colleges to view Queens, Kings, Clare and St Johns from the river. It is a splendid and historic ride. If... More

A massive thank you to everyone at the Granta Boat&Punt Company to make our special day even more special! We booked 7 large chauffered punts to take all our wedding guests for a punting tour through the centre of Cambridge. They were very responsive in the lead-up to the day, and on the Big Day, they coordinated perfectly with our... More

Very amusing trip, spiced up by our knowledgeable guide. He seemed to know so much about the university history and the environment. Was a bit sad the punting ended so quickly. We enjoyed the unique views from the Cam river, not easily reacable otherwise. Our trip there was paid by our company, so frankly I can't say if the prices... More

We had 4 adults and 3 children, everyone had a great time. Great views of everything and really the only way to see and get great information about the city. Our guide was knowledgeable and funny, we loved it, well worth the money and the walk.

Living in Cambridge gives one the ideal opportunity to know the best place to take a punt, or rather be taken on a punt, we have done both and each experience to view this beautiful city from the river Cam is a must. The guided tour is both relaxing and informative as well highly amusing to watch others attempting the... More

There's an awful lot of competition for punting on the River Cam in Cambridge. Frankly, they are probably all pretty good. We chose the Granta Punt Company for a self-guided punt because they were "out of the way" (ie, not in the main tourist stream) and were therefore more competitive on price. The punt was in good condition and I... More
