Well-maintained punts close to the main attractions

This company has a large number of punts for hire. The cost is £24 an hour (not so bad when I recall that they cost around £10 an hour fifty years ago). Once on board, you should... read more

This company has a large number of punts for hire. The cost is £24 an hour (not so bad when I recall that they cost around £10 an hour fifty years ago). Once on board, you should head for the colleges to view Queens, Kings, Clare and St Johns from the river. It is a splendid and historic ride. If... More

A massive thank you to everyone at the Granta Boat&Punt Company to make our special day even more special! We booked 7 large chauffered punts to take all our wedding guests for a punting tour through the centre of Cambridge. They were very responsive in the lead-up to the day, and on the Big Day, they coordinated perfectly with our... More

Very amusing trip, spiced up by our knowledgeable guide. He seemed to know so much about the university history and the environment. Was a bit sad the punting ended so quickly. We enjoyed the unique views from the Cam river, not easily reacable otherwise. Our trip there was paid by our company, so frankly I can't say if the prices... More

We had 4 adults and 3 children, everyone had a great time. Great views of everything and really the only way to see and get great information about the city. Our guide was knowledgeable and funny, we loved it, well worth the money and the walk.

Living in Cambridge gives one the ideal opportunity to know the best place to take a punt, or rather be taken on a punt, we have done both and each experience to view this beautiful city from the river Cam is a must. The guided tour is both relaxing and informative as well highly amusing to watch others attempting the... More

There's an awful lot of competition for punting on the River Cam in Cambridge. Frankly, they are probably all pretty good. We chose the Granta Punt Company for a self-guided punt because they were "out of the way" (ie, not in the main tourist stream) and were therefore more competitive on price. The punt was in good condition and I... More

We hired a single punt for 6 of us to punt upriver and had a lovely 2 hours on the Cam watching kingfishers, dragonflies, geese and swans as well as having a great picnic lunch on the side of the river. All pretty good VFM as were charged by the minute. Recommend this company.

As we were on a parking meter, the sales crew said they would hold the boat so we could get on an earlier trip. but when we arrived at the set off point, it had gone. The boys who greeted us were apologetic and charming so we stayed for a drink in the pub overlooking the water, to wait for... More

These guys - Alex, Miles and Millie (hope I've got that right) - were awesome. I turned up on my road bike with a peculiar request for a photo of me and my bike in a punt. Not only did they agree, but they did the punting, and the photography (hopefully we can get a pic here). Many thanks for... More
