Very friendly staff and good for a cheap stay but unfortunately that is where it ends.
The first room we were in was very cramped with a ridiculous amount of bulky furniture. The bathroom stank of mould and when we used the tap the smell coming from the plug was unbearable.
Thankfully our host was prepared to move us to a different room which actually was much much nicer.
Overall though this place has so much potential but needs a good load of TLC.
It’s very run down, holes in the floor, shower curtains 😮 and generally quite run down.

A pleasant stay

As other reviewers have stated the decor is a bit tired and in need of redecoration and DIY.
Get past the decor and you’ll enjoy a quiet spacious and comfortable room.
The breakfast is quite good but could do with better quality meat and selection of fruit.
Would recommend this establishment.

Best Bristol Rooms!
Sep 2018 • Solo
The owner/ manager/'Room Boy' of this independent hotel was very charming and helpful. This was a much better choice than the national chain hotel standard offering.
It is different, quiet, and central enough, with delightful "rustic" touches in solid oak furniture, but every fitting is sleekly modern and chosen to look handsome and function well.
My room had everything: hair drier, ironing board, a free-standing heater if you wanted heating independently of the hotel central heating, and very generous supplies of tea and coffee.
The TV was good but with the customary hotel limited number of channels.
You need to have your mobile to speak to reception, but its only a few paces away in this all ground floor conversion of a large stable courtyard building, something you won't enjoy in a chain hotel!
The room was very quiet and the place is located down a driveway opposite the Crown Hotel pub.
Altogether a delightful place to stay, and only £70 if you book direct with the place by phone and still under £80 via the big hotel search sites.
The sort of place that makes travelling on business into an unexpected pleasure.
