Easy to find, centrally located between the harbour side and shopping area. Free to enter. It's worth a look around as it is a very nice and ornate building, even without the religious aspect of it. You will go around it in about half a hour so a good rain dodger. Not the best and not the worst of religious buildings in the U.K but worth a look either side of lunch. As the Christmas Market was on we felt the Cathedral could have been dressed for Christmas even though was the end of November - didn't notice any Christmas decorations

What a surprise. I must say I agree with Simon Jenkins that the surroundings need improving but this cathedral is a gem and is definitely in our top 10. We were really lucky to have an excellent guide, when they know their stuff they really make a difference.

We visited early (before 9am) and had the place to ourselves - a lovely building and right next door to our hotel (Bristol Royal Marriott, also recommended)

Whilst Bristol isn't one of the stand out cathedrals in the UK, it is a beautiful, ornate, building, and well worth calling in.

Beautiful cathedral which is actually better on the inside than outside. Gorgeous stained glass windows of some actual people who helped in the war effort. A lovely quiet garden as well at the back and a small cafe and toilets. Thank you to the ladies who meet you when you walk in for the information and smiles.

We had a quick wander around the cathedral as we were passing. It's a beautiful building and the information boards showcased its present day function as well as the history. It was good to see the acknowledgement of the links with the slave trade.

This church has been around since the 12th century and is an outstanding example of English Gothic architecture. The long soaring gothic lines are evident both outside and in. The characteristically symmetric plan of English Gothic is evident on the exterior, especially at the front of the building with the pair of symmetric towers. Long soaring lines fill the interior nave and altar, lines rising from the columns, ending with fan vaults, joining in the centre and key stones.

My favourite chapel has to be the new Lady Chapel with it’s beautiful altar and ornate stained glass windows of saints, Jesus and Mary. The cloister is an exceptional part of the cathedral, a long corridor lined with stained glass windows of significant figures in the history of the church and England Unlike many great cathedrals, Bristol does not charge an entrance fee, but I was happy to donate in lieu as I would’ve been happy to pay anyway. Alongside the Wills Memorial Building, Bristol Cathedral is one of the top things to see in the city.

Not the most imposing Cathedral from the outside but it is free to enter but give a donation if you can. The interior is an oasis of calm to gather your thoughts and the garden was a lovely place to take a rest in.

Went to see the moon exhibit, which was excellent. Shame we didn't get time to walk round more than the gardens and visit the cafe this time around. Have been before numerous times.

Wow.
Cathedral is magnificent from the outside. Very imposing and surrounded by a beautiful green space.
Inside it’s typical cathedral - high vaulted ceilings, tombs, stained glass, massive organ.
The highlight was a 1:500,000 scale model of the moon suspended from the ceiling.
