We visited to see the visiting self-portrait of Rembrandt, the really famous one of him aged 63 and it was worth the visit just for that, though we also enjoyed the work of the 19th century artists on display. However, we could not stay and...More

There are not many places you can take an 18 year old and not spend money and have an enjoyable few hours! Excellent museum, interesting and informative in a great building. See photos. 10/10 Worth a visit and a donation at the end.

Now, I'm not saying that there is a lot to do here, but it is a great place to take kids. I loved the dinosaur section and the artwork was great. Some interactive pieces could do with being fixed, but the Egyptian section was great

Our boys (2 and 4) love this museum. Perfect for a rainy day in Bristol. Has sections on Egypt, local wildlife, dinosaurs, worldwide wildlife (including Alfred the Gorilla - now stuffed...). Also a cafe and a play area for kids.
