On first entry to the ship there is a film showing what incredibly harsh conditions the crews had to contend with back in the day. No "Health and Safety" in those days! Then, moving to the interior of the ship, you are treated to a "living" example of the height of luxury for the times the ship plied the transatlantic... More

This is a great way to teach our history to adults and children. They can see what life on the SS Great Britain was like. The shop is also very interesting. There is plenty to keep all amused. After a tour around the Ship you can relax with an ice cream , cup of tea and a cake or a... More

Truly great experience on a historic and lovely looking ship. You feel part of the history and a unique experience to be able to go down to the hull of the ship and see all around the ship. A must go if in Bristol.

This is a great attraction for all the family and is very good value because your entrance ticket allows unlimited visits for a year. The ship is displayed as it would have been in the 1850s when it was a great ocean liner. When you go on board you can choose whether to be a 1st or 3rd class passenger... More

Wow what an amazing journey this ship has been on and what a delight it was to visit. It's set out really well, looking at the outside of the ship before going into the museum to learn about the history and her story then moving on to the refurbished ship and looking at what life must have been like when... First visit since I was at school, some years ago...!!!! Can highly recommend. Friendly & knowledgable staff. Fun activities to keep the kids interested, just a shame our daughter was an inch too short to complete the mast climb 😩 Will definitely be making a return visit.

I found this to be a most captivating experience, easily being absorbed into the days when the SS Great Britain first sailed. Enthralling to understand how it must have ben for those intrepid travellers. Would definitely recommend this excursion.

When my son suggested we take my four and six year old grand daughters to SS Great Britain on a drizzly wet day, I thought we would be stuck out on deck!!!! But, I was so wrong. I was stunned first of all by walking around the ship under water . Then we discovered the totally realistic cabins, dining room.... More

Surprise visit arranged by the other half. On arriving you are greated by a glance of this stunning vessel. The reception staff are welcoming and helpful as are the other staff. The 'crew' dotted around the boat including Brunel himself are great. Tonnes of character and information to share they were just great. We were there for nearly 3hrs walking... More
