I am really sorry that you didn't enjoy yourself.
This is my first review of less that four stars and I'll be honest, is a little surprising.
Nearly all breweries are based in industrial estates. Moor is where I drink on a weekly basis and I find the staff and atmosphere makes it a lovely place to hang out, with a huge selection of great beers to choose from. The four venues all have unique personalities and styles. In two of them you would had been served by the business owners themselves.
The last pub, The Elmer's Arms does have live music on Friday & Saturday nights, and occasionally a Thursday. These are vinyl DJ's or live bands. The beer selection in there is fabulous, with ten lines (eight of which are local) and therefore the pub is extremely popular with craft beer drinkers. Elmer himself is one of the loveliest men you'll ever meet, so it's a real shame you didn't venture in.
You do pay a few pounds more than it would cost to buy the beers yourself and I am very sorry if you feel that means bad value after the maps, factsheets, beer tokens have been lovingly put together by me. The venues are tiny, independent venues stocking locally produced beers and therefore the beer is not necessarily the cheapest you find.
I am therefore also very sorry you didn't feel that it was good value.
