Give staff better training and teach them manners. This has to be the worse station in the south. I almost missed my train because of an altercation with two staff members at Bristol Temple Meads. I came from the Taxi rank into the station and upto the ticket barriers. I was in a rush as I only had ten minutes to get my train, the tickets barriers were very busy. I politely waited my turn behind a lady in a green head scarf and green jacket, I thought she was having trouble with her ticket so I waited patiently. I then heard her laughing and joking with the IC3 female GWR staff member so I went to the next barrier, now even later for my train and horrified to see the woman I had been waiting behind, in the head scarf was also in GWR uniform. I looked at both of them and shook my head only to hear the IC3 female say “it’s ok we work here” so I replied well maybe it’s not a good idea to stand around chatting and laughing in the ticket barriers whilst general public are trying to get on with their journey. She then raised her voice and said “shut up we can do want ever we want to we work here”. I was so shocked to hear that from a GWR staff member, as we travel with GWR regularly and have never experienced this behaviour. Please could you look into this matter and get back to me at your earliest convenience.

I arrived platform 3 on time (last minute), the trains’ doors were still open but they didn’t let me in. The lady standing by the door at the back asked me where I want to go, I felt there was enough time for me to easily use the other door to get in, but instead one of the staff (the man standing by the line) shouted to step back so I had to wait to catch the next train. So frustrating.

Announce platform changes so that people who have handicaps can get from Platform 10 where the train was due to Platform 4, which is a horrible length anyway. The failure to respect passengers by giving such little notice (< 10mins) resulted in me being an hour late at my destination. Sat Sept 10th at 09.45

The worst train station i have ever been to, it is so confusing, and best of luck if english is not your first language. Double-checking your platform 4 times is not enough there.

For example, they put 2 train departing around the same time on the same platform, with no indication in the train of the destination.
An agent shouted in the carriage i was waiting for the past 5min something almost unintelegible, i had to ask another passenger to clarify what he said - to discover too late i was indeed in the wrong train and my train just departed.

It is not the first time i miss a train in BTM due to lack of signage, and i have never missed a train anywhere else, even in bigger station such as London and Paris.

In addition, best of luck if you wish to make a complaint - it is almost impossible.

I missed a train and had to wait an hour and a half for the next one at Temple Meads. It was lunchtime. In most big city stations you would easily find something nice to eat and drink and somewhere pleasant to sit, either on the station or nearby. But the area was a wasteland! Just a Costa takeaway with a few dried up sarnies and a coffee stall on platform 1. Nothing obvious near the station - just one locked-up long-dead caff. Too far from town to walk back in for a bite. I’m gluten free so ended up with a packet of crisps from the Costa.

Another problem was the 20 people long queue for the ladies loo. I have a disability but there were no signs at all to the disabled loos. I later found there are 2, one on platform 1 and one on platform 13. Both very far from the ‘normal’ toilet. Why on earth do they not have a disabled loo next to the other toilets like everywhere else??? There was a poor lady there very frustrated trying to find a toilet for her elderly mother in a wheelchair, who was unable to wait much longer.

Britol Temple Meads Station is a crap place so a job in the Pumpkin Cafe on Platform 9 at Bristol Temple Meads on a Monday evening is probably not the greatest of jobs; but the young lad working there this evening was really good to me. After my long journey (from up North) his good service made my day and made my wait at Temple Meads almost bearable and that says it all. A good man! Buy from him and give him a tip. It will be the best thing you can do at Bristol Temple Meads

Asked for a latte with oat milk only to be told that they couldn’t do that and ‘could I just have a normal coffee’ I told the woman that I’m allergic to dairy so she looked in the fridge behind her where there was clearly a range of dairy free milk and told me that they had none. After I told her I had seen the milk she took it out the fridge and gave it to the boy making the coffee who was clearly new and hadn’t been trained and told him she didn’t know how to make the coffee with that milk. I’ve never had this experience in any small coffee shops before let alone a costa and people with allergies shouldn’t be made to feel like they are being awkward the woman was clearly not trained to work in the costa but she was very rude.

A good place to connect to several parts of the UK and to Bristol Airport. The place is quite small, which makes it easy to navigate. The only thing I'd like to see is a bus shelter for the airport bus. Right now, you're standing there, waiting in the rain (and it rains a lot there) for the bus to arrive. Also, it would be a good idea if the bus from and to the airport used different stops. As it is now, it can be quite confusing.
When catching trains, expect the modern British attitude by staff. It's quite common nowadays, politeness has been thrown out of the window decades ago.
Apart from that, it's a nice, typical British station with an impressive facade.
