This walk led us to visit beautiful and remote places that offer us an unforgettable series of memories. Nature is quite preserved and during some days the only living creatures we met between two points of the trail were sheeps and birds. Accommodations and spots to eat or buy necessary gear were not hard to find along the way, even... More

We just finished a 13-day guided hike across most of northern England. It was a remarkable experience. For those inclined, you should look into it. There are options - from complete packages (e.g. National Geographic, Mt Sobek, Sierra Club) with guides, inns, meals and portage of luggage - all the way down to backpacking on your own. The trail is... More

My wife and I (65 and 70) just returned from doing the Coast to Coast in 16 days and really enjoyed it. I think other reviewers cover most of what people need to know about this very rewarding walk but I would add a couple of things: 1. We used Packhorse out of Kirkby Stephens to book our accommodations and... More

I have just completed the walk - I took 13 nights and 14 days and walked solo. I am over 60, but I really think age is irrelevant on this walk - it is essential to be physically fit. I am a regular walker and for the previous 6 weeks or so I was doing an all day walk, 8... More

I walked the Coast to Coast in thirteen days, and found the experience highly rewarding. I know others who have done it, and I have yet to meet anyone who did not find the experience worth the effort. Having done several other National Trails in Britain, and loving every one, I still must give the nod to C2C as the... More

I was a solo walker and used Sherpa Expeditions to make arrangements. The walk itself entirely depends 1. weather 2. on you. The weather in the lake district started out very nicely and ended with us hiking from Grasmere-Patterdale in 4 inches of snow when the forecast did not have any mention of it. The blizzard like conditions meant no... More

Hi all. We are back again but this time quite a bit different from all our previous years. First of all, I would like to make a correction from my last review of September 2015. I mistakenly wrote that the ffirst leg (after the 7 mile hike around St Bees head) was St Bees to Rosthwaite. While it has been... More

This was a fabulous walk that left us with the most amazing memories. We did not walk with a tour group, but on our own so that we could set our own pace and not feel the pressure of having to keep up with other walkers. We are so glad that we did that! We averaged between 12-16 miles a... More

Went with Utracks on a guided 15 day C2C walk-fantastic food and really special accommodation. - beautiful countryside. Guide seemed to only walk at the front of the group and be interested in fast walkers. An atmosphere of competition fostered and when the group re-grouped the last walker was not waited for- constant feeling of trying to catch up, even... More

Our two week Coast to Coast walk with HF Holidays was outstanding. Our accommodations and meals were excellent. Our volunteer trip leader, Howard MATTHEWSON, was exceptional. His way-finding skills were first rate, guiding us on alternate paths according to the terrain and weather. Howard's knowledge of the human and natural history of the hills, valleys and villages we passed through... More
