There are various aspects to this visit. Local craftworkers rent out space for their workshops and are often in attendance, there is a well stocked giftshop, cafe with very tasty food, mill well worth a visit - self guided with all the old machinery in...More

Arrived on a rainy morning and thought that no one else had decided to turn up! Despite signs saying it was open there was no one around and the craft centre and shop were also closed. Went to try and buy tickets but couldn't so...More

Hello, Craft centre owner here (the mill is a charity) It is prominently displayed that the craft centre and café open at 10am (along with most other attractions in the area) and it is impossible that the shop and café were actually closed after that...More

Bit disappointing really. A lot of it seemed to be closed. Cafe looked nice but we didn't use. Extensive gift shop but I thought it was expensive. If you're looking to waste a bit of time fine, if you're passing fine but I wouldn't make...More

Owner of the craft centre here. Oh dear, I'm sorry you came away disappointed. You don't say what time of day you visited. Our craftspeople are self employed and have to do things away from the site at times but the flour milling museum would...More

We had hoped to see a working mill, but although there were belts turning and a few of the machines appeared to be running, we couldn't see any flour being made. It was more a collection of interesting-looking machines in a fascinating old building. The...More

Thank you for your lovely review of the gift shop. The craft centre is a different enterprise to the flour mill museum. Museum is the telling word. Milling used to be carried out by wonderful volunteers but hygiene regulations and health and safety issues stopped...More

This craft Centre is worth a visit . Various crafts undertaken here woodwork, ironwork, glass work and of course the working flour mill. The gift shop is excellent and has some unusual good quality stock. I thought the choice of cards was particularly good. The...More

Spent a morning here viewing all the machinery over several floors. Well laid out and surprisingly fascinating. Purchased several bags of flour from the shop which sells many varieties in different sizes. Lovely craft shop as well.

Cafe only sells vegitarian food, and the cake did not look very interesting. The mill was very interesting, but some of the info boards etc could do with revamping. Dogs allowed in the shops but not in the mill. Local glass worker, stone mason, blacksmith...More

We absolutely loved our visit to the mill, my partner in particular is hugely interested in the mechanics of machinery and loved meeting Lance who took the time to explain in depth the workings of the mill. Thank you so much for a lovely day!

Craft Centre owner here: Now isn't this funny, your lovely kind review has come in on the same day as another unkind one saying 'don't bother' Hmm, I wonder who's right? Ah, yes, it seems you are in good company and they aren't. Thank you!
