An unexpected find

We did not know about this Mill but stumbled upon it as our Hotel was close by. It is set in a lovely area. The shops are varied and unique. We had lunch there which was spot on.

A brilliant place for anyone with an interest in food, machinery or social/industrial history - never seen anything else quite like it. The setting is idyllic too, and there's a great cafe, artisan workshops and tasteful gift shop on site. The fully working flour mill is powered by the waters of the river Wye and is a great way to... It was raining and this craft centre was just a few minutes away from our where we were staying, so thought we'd pop in. There was a working forge, you could book a session for yourself. Very friendly couple of chaps working there. Also some beautiful glass being made along with a large craft shop and a working flour mill... More

Old industrial machinery like this is a fascination for me; all too often we lose the link between what we eat and how it is produced and this mill serves as a reminder of how hard our daily bread was won. The whole place has a wonderful old world charm about it, although it is hard to believe that it... More

Interesting Flour Mill Museum which still produces wholemeal flour for purchase (could do with a bit of refurbishment but is a charitable trust dependent on visitors). Surrounded by some interesting gift and craft shops and a fabulous cafe!

We stopped at this place primarily for something to eat but with the word Craft in the title, it was a magnet for my wife. The car park is large and was reasonably busy on our visit. The short walk to the Mill was down a lovely path. We first encounter the blacksmith, busy in soaring temperatures. A lovely jewellery... More

This old flour mill has become our main reason to travel down from Yorkshire at least twice a year. A wide range of flour and cereals, alongside a fast, deep diverted stream, which powers the old machinery and provides a pleasant place to pass on the way from the rear car park. A café, gift shop, and a chance to... More

We visited Greehalgh Glass at the Mill. The glass art is beautiful,a lot based on the tree of life. I would love to have been able to take a piece home but luggage constraints stop me. I did buy a small plate that will be easy to keep safe,as well as some jewellery. If you love glass you will be blown... More

We used to rave about the cafe at the mill. For us this visit was no so good. Car park was nearly empty and we had a choice of plenty of spaces. Sun was out and whilst it looked great we were surprised so few visitors were about. Hopefully we caught them on an off day because have promised several... More

Great place to watch the water and Mill. Lots of ducks to feed. Car park can be tight if busy. The cafe does lovely coffees, cakes and jacket spuds. Nice to see the little shops open, blacksmith, crafts and gifts, arts, glass. Generally a nice few hours can be spent here.
