Owner of the craft centre here - We are very glad you enjoyed your visit and agree that you really feel the energy flow from the mill workings. Our artisan craft workers are long established and the café and shop have 30 years experience in...More

The cafe doesn't advertise itself as vegetarian but it is or on 3 visits there was no meat or fish on the menu but even though I am not a 'veggie' I found the food absolutely delicious (hence 3 visits in a week). The servings...More

The mill here has lots of machinery, some of it working but not all the time. The information boards etc give lots of insight into how the mill worked and what life was like. They still mill flour and you can buy it in the...More

Pat here, the owner of the craft centre. Thank you very much for your kind review and we are very glad you enjoyed your cake and found the gift shop rewarding. The flour mill is a charity, run by a group of volunteers and sadly...More

There are various aspects to this visit. Local craftworkers rent out space for their workshops and are often in attendance, there is a well stocked giftshop, cafe with very tasty food, mill well worth a visit - self guided with all the old machinery in...More

Hello, Craft centre owner here (the mill is a charity) It is prominently displayed that the craft centre and café open at 10am (along with most other attractions in the area) and it is impossible that the shop and café were actually closed after that...More

Bit disappointing really. A lot of it seemed to be closed. Cafe looked nice but we didn't use. Extensive gift shop but I thought it was expensive. If you're looking to waste a bit of time fine, if you're passing fine but I wouldn't make...More

Owner of the craft centre here. Oh dear, I'm sorry you came away disappointed. You don't say what time of day you visited. Our craftspeople are self employed and have to do things away from the site at times but the flour milling museum would...More

We had hoped to see a working mill, but although there were belts turning and a few of the machines appeared to be running, we couldn't see any flour being made. It was more a collection of interesting-looking machines in a fascinating old building. The...More

Thank you for your lovely review of the gift shop. The craft centre is a different enterprise to the flour mill museum. Museum is the telling word. Milling used to be carried out by wonderful volunteers but hygiene regulations and health and safety issues stopped...More

Spent a morning here viewing all the machinery over several floors. Well laid out and surprisingly fascinating. Purchased several bags of flour from the shop which sells many varieties in different sizes. Lovely craft shop as well.
