We took the convertible on a drive here. Even though it was a cloudy day, we still had fun. The speed limit averages 40 mph, but I would not have wanted to go faster anyway. This is a great drive.

Actually a well paved state highway but speed limit is averages 40 mph. Old homes, theaters , beaches close to road. Original road on Cape Cod before rte 6. Great ride in a sports car in summer, smooth slow curves.

Ol Cape Cod... as the song goes, and when you travel down route 6A, you will see just that. The road is quaint, slower, nice homes, and shops here and there (not too many). Begin in Sandwich and enjoy a 30 - 40 MPH curving road stepping back into a slower, leisurely ride all the way to Orleans where Route 6A now becomes part of the State Highway Rt 6 all the way to Providence. Enjoy this road!

We had a National Geographic Scenic Highways & Byways guide and this route was in the book to take. So happy we did and it poured rain the entire day. It was fun to jump out and snap photos along the way and it gives you a more meaningful look because you aren't on the main highway. We took the drive all the way to the end of Cape Cod. I highly recommend seeing Cape Cod this way.

This road is a slower and more gentle means of going along the Cape from Sandwich to Orleans, than the hectic Route 6. Whenever possible, we took the little detours to the beaches and harbors. The whole trip took nearly a day and we had a thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing time.

I thought I was going to love driving down this road but turned out I was not that impressed. We started in Sandwich and I loved it there. We went to glass museum and grist mill and had lunch. All wonder full. There were lots of antique shops along the drive and if you like stopping every mile or so and antiquing then you would love this. We did not take detours to beaches and maybe that made a difference? The road was pretty and more interesting than driving a busy highway but I would not recommend driving the whole thing. We stayed elsewhere on cape so got off halfway to go to our hotel. We did drive back to area see a few sites and that was perfect for us.

What is the best way to experience Old Kings Hwy. I want to get the most out of the trip. Multiple days are not a problem. Thanks.
