Highly recommend this fantastical place. We enjoyed a very leisurely self guided tour in about 90 minutes. The key is to not rush through. There are so many easy to miss delights: flamingos, iguana, butterflies in the lush flora. I felt like I was transported to a tropical jungle experience without a fear of deadly snakes or toe rot. Dress... More

My first time in a butterfly garden it was incredibly awesome experiance, love it. All kind of colors, their amazing life cycle. Nice spot to spend an hour, take pictures, and experience the touch of the lava. Look also for the swan around.

Victoria British Columbia was our last port on the Alaska cruise. We took the gardens tour & glad we did. We enjoyed these gardens very much. It was amazing to see the butterflies & how they grow from caterpillars. I would highly recommend this excursion. It was beautiful

You are entering a hot and humid enclosure. If you have a DSLR or any large camera, prepare for it to be useless for about 15-20 minutes... it will fog immediately... use the heater near the exit to get your camera warmed up. And be patient... Then go ahead and see if you can photograph the butterflies... and there are... More

If you love butterflies, then this is another place you should try to visit while vacationing in Victoria BC area. Located less than a 5 minute drive from Butchart Gardens, it is filled with beautifully colored butterflies and plants. Another fun family outing.

I so enjoyed my time. I have never been a solo traveller, but this trip I had to attend without my family, I was not excited, but when I entered the gardens, it was so peaceful, and Mr. Ollie the parrot fell involve with me, and rode around on my shoulder. I did not plan that, and tried to share... More

Apparently they allow you to go into the butterfly exhibit at night but no one tells you that you will have to play Where's Waldo while you are there! We FOUND 3 butterflies on trees and saw two flying around the light. There were nice plants/trees and some ducks and turtles, but we came to see butterflies. I've been to... More

We took a bus tour here, stopping for approximately 45 minutes, which is enough time if you don't dawdle. The personnel were very friendly and informative. Many butterflies, parrots, flamingo's, turtles and more. Very beautiful flowers. Leave some time to visit the Gift shop. This stop is a good combination with the Buschart Gardens
