These internationally acclaimed floral display gardens, and National...

These internationally acclaimed floral display gardens, and National Historic Site of Canada, started over 100 years ago and remain privately owned by the family. Jennie Butchart wanted to make her husband's depleted limestone quarry look better and the result is the Sunken Garden. Other gardens include the Rose Garden, the Japanese Garden and the Italian Garden. The gardens are meticulously maintained and provide a riot of colour for much of the year. During the summer, special lighting subtly illuminates the gardens, musical entertainment takes place on the Concert Lawn, and there are ten spectacular Saturday night Firework Shows. The Magic of Christmas season also has beautiful lighting and evening entertainment, and an outdoor skating rink. Spring offers hundreds of thousand flowering bulbs and Autumn is the time for dahlias, chrysanthemums and fall colours. The Gardens is open daily, year round.

Was happy to visit the famous gardens. The property is gorgeous and is so well manicured and maintained. Worth going to see, and listen to music on the property with live shows, and have a meal too. The photos of the property before the owners started to convert into what you will see is incredible. Well worth seeing and property... More

It was more amazing than I remembered. Their plant combinations were stunning. My favorite parts were the sunken garden, Chinese garden and dancing fountain. We had a delicious bowl of soup and scone before we started. Talked with friends who asked if we were there at night. Sounds like we missed something we will need to go back to see.

Worth the visit! Even if flowers are not your thing, it is just that pretty. You should go, amazing. Millions of flowers, no weeds, deadheads, or imperfections.

These gardens are amazing.. you can stroll through as fast or slow as you wish (make sure you head back to the historic boat house). The Japanese Gardens were very peaceful and a respite from the sun. We loved it... great day trip via the ferry from Vancouver.

The Buchart Gardens are truly beautiful, stroll at your own pace, and marvel at the millions of blooms, and fragrances. A must see if you are on Vancouver Island.

If you love trees, plants, and flowers, plan to spend at least 3 hours meandering about this series of gardens. The boat tour of the shoreline was well worth the price of the ticket because it provides a personal tour that includes the history of the gardens.

We were advised to visit this garden by a local. The gardens are stunning, beautiful, amazing, awesome.... I think you get my drift! The sunken garden was breathtaking, words can not describe how beautiful it was. The gardeners are very knowledgeable about the plants, also you can obtain information at the information point as to what climate the plants will... More

I have been to Canada a number of times but this was my first visit to Butchart Gardens. We went early, around 9 am and it was an absolutely fantastic experience. It was so clean there, the coffee shops and restaurants were really good. But the most amazing experience was the layout of the gardens and the absolutely amazing flowers... More

An amazing array of flowers and gardens with different colours that will keep any macro photographer lover busy for hours. The summer is great with evening events like concerts. Tonight was an open air performance by the Victoria symphony. It was great to get a blanket and just lay on the grounds and listen to some great music. With the... More

A must visit for flower lovers. I have visited a number of botanic gardens, and this was the most beautiful, lush gardens I have ever seen. It was absolutely gorgeous.
