We just walked the loop trail which starts near the picnic tables and it's an easy 1.5 km flat path through the forest with views of the Cove and boats anchored there. The trail leads you to a nice view of the rapids at Boat Passage, which is where skilled kayakers and small boats pass between Saturna Island and Samuel Island. The trail is suitable for young families, people with walking challenges and there are benches along the way. Saw lots of happy dogs on leashes going for walks too. Plenty of car parking and a bike rack too!

My wife and I cycled to the park (which has biffies) and walked the beach to the point, returning by the trails, in love with Saturna, in love with the water`s edge paradise at Winter Cove. At the point we watched the tide sneaking through the thirty foot gap to the next island... then watched it turn... and become a mighty stream in the other direction, like the racing tide you see from the BC Ferry going through Active Pass. Except this time it;s just you and your sweetheart who are there to admire. We lay in the sun in tall grass and wildflowers, just feet away from the drop off to the ocean, admiring the view which included eagles, Roberts Bank some dozen miles away, and freighters. We drifted off to sleep, feeling safe and at peace, surrounded by beauty.

Easy access. Relatively short trail. Highlight is a rocky point where you can watch a strong tidal surge through a narrow channel. Well worth a stop!

Great little anchorage and sneaky pass if you've got the wherewithal, just go at high-slack. Be careful of the shallow areas, and talk to your neighbours about how much rode they have out as people often foul here.

an amazing sunny July 1st and a great visit to Saturna Island for the first time for the annual Lamb Bake festival which has been held every year since 1950. We arrived by our friends boat to Winter Cove and there is a complimentary taxi boat service to take you to shore. This years price was $20 pp cash only for the lamb bake. Credit cards are taken at some of the vender booths offering hand crafted local items for sale, but bring cash for food and the beer garden. Was a fun community centred experience. Those with children would enjoy all the more. Very little shade. Recommend you bring chairs, umbrellas, blankets, for ultimate comfort. Saturna Island is beautiful.

Winter Cove is a popular anchorage off Saturna Island. It's safe and quite well protected with reasonably good holding ground for anchoring. There is a dinghy dock and a grassy area for congregating if you have a number of people. It's quite near a public field. There's a trail where you can walk out to look over Boat Pass, where you might see people going through in kayaks or power boats. You can see out over Georgia Straight and down to Tumbo Island. You can walk along the road to Church Cove, where there is a little old church on private property (but lots of people take a peek.) It's a fairly long way to walk to any sort of commercial establishments on Saturna. But if you put out your thumb, someone would no doubt give you a ride to the ferry landing area if you needed one.

An average park with a marina, there's not really much to see here other than the short hike that is worth while.

Nice scenic anchorage while passing through the Gulf Islands. There is shore access, and a dinghy dock, on the south side of the cove.

The scenery- the tranquility- the crystal clear water - the beautiful sunshine made for a great day for a hike and swim in the water - no garbage along the path - amazing given the amount of people

Nice view of Georgia strait and there is a nice 1.5km easy to walk trail which goes through some very cool ecosystems. Picnic tables come with a view.
