We stayed at the Prince of Wales Hotel and visited the town of Waterton for 2 days. Charming town, very slow pace, very friendly people. Take the boat trip up the lakes to see the international border and listen to the wonderful tour guides.

This is a beautiful place but on the pricey side. There are lots of trails and outdoor activities. In town there is a large playground that the kids will love. The RV park has the best views besides the hotel.

Waterton is beautiful, anytime of the year. I went this weekend and it was lovely. BUT, only two restaurants and one store was open. Everything else is literally boarded up and closed until May. None of the local business websites indicate they are closed, when...More

Waterton Village has a charm to it that Banff and Jasper wish they had. During the season, however, there are sufficient shops and restaurants open, even though it is a very small village. Being right on the lake, you don't really need to drive anywhere,...More

One of the best weekend vacations we have taken. Took the shore line cruise, views were spectacular, the crew was very friendly and informative.

Waterton Lake is breathtakingly beautiful. The village is nice and quaint. We went on the Waterton Shoreline Cruise to Montana and thoroughly enjoyed it. Rented bikes from Pats which was a lot of fun

It is in the park so of course you have to pay to visit; Banff and Jasper, same thing though a LOT of people will stop for hours without paying, this isn't the case here. The fires have altered the setting dramatically but thankfully the...More

We stopped in Waterton Village on Sept 16. The Prince of Wales hotel was closed, even though tour buses were there and there were people working inside. We went down to the village and tried to go shopping but the people working in the stores...More

When you get to Waterton, park your car and get out and explore on foot. There isn't anywhere that really requires that you drive from location to location. The Village has wonderful restaurants, a deer that seems to hang out at the police station, plenty...More

Thanks for the reply. We would only use it for a few things like a lunch of things at the shop. I'm thinking it will easier too just use our regular C.C. card there. I appreciate your answer.

Hi, I have been googling info for the shuttle for this hike and I want to confirm that I have read if its still up to date: so if I park at Cameron Falls in Waterton Village, I can get on a shuttle to Cameron Lake and start the hike there so I can end the hike at my car. I have read that Tamarack Outdoor Outfitters has a shuttle and I read that there are now free shuttles (I think i read an article from 2016) in that route too, but I dont remember if those were just while construction was...More

Any free shuttles would be operated by Parks Canada. I think the shuttle last summer was in place due to the construction, but as shuttle operations/schedules can change from year to year, your best bet is to contact the Parks Canada centre in Waterton (google Waterton National Park). For info on the Tamarack shuttle, you should contact the store via e-mail. Be aware that they may be seasonal, so it's possible there could be a delay in response.
