We spent a fascinating hour outside peering into the tanks with live fry, reading the billboards and learning about the hatchery process which is bringing major salmon runs back to two of the Pacific's over fished rivers. Then we found the information center with a...More

This is a great place to take the kids. They have interesting displays that help inform everyone. It is a must see if you are visiting Port Hardy, or a local.

Great dedication to education about aquatic life cycles is a hallmark of at the Stewardship Centre at Quatse river. This wonderful centre is located close to Port Hardy and Port McNeill. Make a point to walk the local trail adjacent the Centre.

Very interesting place to visit-learned a lot about salmon habitats, as well as the process of gathering brood stocks from rivers, breeding, hatching & raising fish for future release.

You can go in and wander around and read the information boards for free, but there's also an interpretive centre that costs CAD6 to go in (which you really should do as it helps to pay for the excellent work they do there). We were...More

This was a great wet weather outing. There is so much for the kids to do in quite a small area. The activities were mostly hands on and unique.

hi Les We had about 2-3 hours which was perfect. The museum is quite small but very interesting. Then the tour of all the tanks is about another hour or so.
