This is a lovely place for an afternoon out. The house has a beautiful exterior and has some amazing features inside. The long gallery and library are in particular worth a look at. Make sure you look up, the ceilings are amazing. The house is in need of some restoration so is not fully accessible but what is open is... More

Took the kids over the Easter holidays. They had plenty of activities for the kids to do. Plenty of panic space, the park was a bit disappointing but kept the kids entertained for a short while. Overall it was a good trip.

Having read some of the reviews I was unsure about what to expect- last visited hall ten years ago. Found the story on the guided tour of why the NT took on the challenge of the hall compelling, and a different tack on the establishment of a Trust site. The remainder of the group seemed satisfied with the content. My... More

Never been before but really enjoyed it. The staff were very helpful during the visit to the house and also went around the children's museum which brought back many memories with the toys etc on show.

A little drizzly when we got there first thing in the morning, but soon cleared to a lovely clear day. The had the Cadbury's Easter hunt on for the children within the grounds. The hall and grounds were beautiful and the staff and volunteers were so helpful and informative. As it is 50 years since the national trust acquired the... More

Had visited before but have since become National Trust members. Visited with wife stepson and 6 year old granddaughter. All enjoyed Museum of Childhood which has improved and Easter Hunt. House is one of the lesser interesting NT houses in my opinion but ok as a member but not so much a paying customer.

Could`t believe some one thought it was a good idea to cover things up in an attempt to recreate 1967 !!. What on earth were they thinking ! . Whoever it was sack them now ! could have been a good day apart from this , On a bank Holiday you give your customers more not less to encourage them... More

The Museum of Childhood is great (reviewed separately) but the house wasn't really my thing. it's expensive to visit and a lot of stuff was covered/taken away for the 1967 event. i understand why they did this but it meant that there was less to see. There also isn't much in the way of information so mostly we didn't know... More

Love going round the building but really disappointed to find dogs only allowed in the small cafe ground area which meant we couldn't walk round the gardens and grounds
