The log cabins are well situated in the reserve , a short drive to wonder cave and the predator park. Facilities at the log cabin are great providing everything needed to make the stay comfortable .
By booking into the log cabin gives access to...More
Very nice reserve with plenty of animals to see from several varieties of deer, lions, cheetahs, ostrich, rhinos, wild dogs, and giraffe. For the most part you can drive around and see lots of animals. There is a separate area to drive through and see...More

This was my first tour of a reserve as well as my first trip to Africa so this was a nice introductory tour for me. I have great pictures. I was able to pet a white lion cub. The drive through was exciting and most...More
It’s not is a reserve, it’s not a safari, it is as a zoo! The leopards, panthers, cheetas, and others animals are arrested in cages and jails! The hippos are confined in a place that even seems not as a swimming pool but like a...More
The cafe was good if one excludes the average service provided. The park is quite large and poorly signposted, which meant one has to act the somewhat surly staff who seem to be there despite them not wanting to be. What animals we saw were...More
The felines are kept in a very small enclosure. Disappointed and sad.
Our guide was very nice and the cub interaction with cheetahs was awesome too, that’s all. I don’t recommend the Game Drive/ Safari. Only the cub interaction (you’ll see the other animals free...More
We revisited the reserve after many years of absence and found that in general that the reserve was well maintained, the roads are in excellent condition. We traveled in our family car and therefore did not use the roads specifically made for off road vehicles,...More

There is no "grand plaza Rosemont hotel" in South Africa. You probably mean the Crowne Plaza, in Rosebank (one of Johannesburg's Northern Suburbs). The drive from this hotel to the Rhino and Lion Park is about 40km, and usually takes me just over 1 hour, so a 7.00am departure should get you there about opening time (8.00am), traffic dependent, of course. Unless you plan to visit other attractions in the area (Wonder Cave, which is in the Rhino & Lion Park, and/or Sterkfontein...More

9 hours layover in O.R. Tampo Airport (3 Replies)
I and my teenage daughter will fly from NY and arrive in JNB on 8/9/2017 around 8:00am and our connecting flight to CPT departs 5:45pm. I figure that we should be out of airport around 9:30am and have to be at the airport around 4:30pm. It will leave us 7 hours. I am thinking to visit the Rhino and Lion Nature Reserve but do not know if it is feasible. My plan is to rent a car at the airport and drive to the Reserve. I should get there by 11:00am and depart at 3:00pm. How is the driving...More

Please don't patronise the rhino and lion park or any other commercial enterprise that lays on interactions with wild animals.
