The spectacular views at sunset…best time to play is twilight in order to capture those pics. I would have expected better customer service from start to finish for the price. There should also be course layout booklets, a couple of tees and a ball marker just doesn’t cut it. Oh yes don’t let me forget the cookies given out at the start nice but would have rather had the booklet! I have to make mention the starter Scott was fantastic he actually welcomed us to the course and spoke to us with interest. Have you ever wondered why Cabot cliffs has the logo they have ask and you will understand the blue lobster very interesting story….thank you Scott!

The golf is amazing. Both courses are great, though the Links is the better course, while the Cliffs has the better view. The "resort" is small and typically low-key as befits Nova Scotia. The rooms are nice, but not glitzy and luxurious like Bandon Dunes, also owned by the same Group. The restaurants are quite decent, but not Michelin star quality. But the service is friendly and accommodating. And the prices are waaay less than Bandon or a typical American golf resort. Remember..it's all about the golf! If you understand the low-key nature and appreciate the golf, you will have a fantastic trip (hopefully it doesn't rain!).

Our stay at the resort was great and golf at the Cliffs was wonderful I would have given a 5 BUT…
The reception at the resort was fantastic, Dan at the desk was great as was our Bellman and the Lady at the Links Pro Shop.
We arrived at the Cliffs for our Tee Time and were greeted and welcomed as expected.
Things went downhill consistently after that, the gal inside the half way shop barked at me, not impressed. The gals at the Pro Shop at the Cliffs was dismissive and rude, I’m incredibly unimpressed by the lack of service provided by them. I had to ask to have one of them ring up my purchase as they both ignored me. I’m rather disgusted with that but am glad I got my souvenir as I won’t be returning after that blow off. We didn’t bother to stay for drinks, we went down the road and got excellent service at Route 19.

This course is simply out of this world. Outstanding layout with terrific fairways and glorious greens. Extremely well maintained. Stunning scenery. Make sure your camera ready and the batteries are new!! It definitely is a thrill of a life time for the serious golfer. Would highly recommend. Defntely has to be on every golfers bucket list. Especially if you live in Atlantic Canada and can take advantage of the shoulder season rates!!

Wow. One of the most scenic and spectacular golf courses I’ve ever played. Everything was immaculate from tee to green. The greens rolled terrific but you really needed help reading the severe breaks. Staff were all very friendly. Even the breakfast we had deserved a picture. I wish it wasn’t so expensive.

The course is immaculate, very well maintained. The views are second to none! This is a walking only course for those with mobility concerns - it has quite a few hills! We had an amazing time! Unlimited balls at the driving range to begin and high end carts to make transport easier. There is only 1-2 water fill stations along the course - bring lots!

The course itself is beautiful. They are trying to make this a high end destination with a true links experience. Unfortunately they fail terribly with the high end experience. The cost of a round of golf is definitely on the high end, but the experience ends there. There are no carts, it is a walking course, which is fine, if you are properly set up as such. But they do not have enough caddies to meet the demand for players requesting them, so you either have to carry your own bag or use a push cart. The website suggesting reserving your caddie in advance to be sure you have one. Well, our group did just that. Each of us "reserving the caddie level" we preferred. That was a useless exercise. When we arrived for our round, they did not have caddies for us. When our tee time arrived, they were still scrambling to find caddies to carry our bags. In the end, they managed to find two caddies for each of our two foursomes, so the caddies ended up carrying two bags each. While I know this is standard at some courses, these caddies were not use to carrying two bags, and told us so. This left the level of attention from the caddies somewhat lacking. Although they tried their best, it was just too much for them. But we were expected to pay as if we all had our own caddie (like we had reserved). Since our second foursome had to wait around for caddies, they got a late start on their tee time, and as such were slightly behind the group ahead. That didn't stop the marshal from giving them a hard time about being behind.
At the beginning of our round, a conversation with the caddie master, ensured us we would not have the same problem when we played the Links course the next day, we would not have an issue with caddies. Well he was wrong. We had the same issue at that course. Once again a caddie shortage, and total confusion.
If they want to sell themselves as a high end, waking experience they need to figure out how to accommodate golfers willing to spend the money better than they are at this time.

Four of us just returned to Toronto after staying at Cabot Links for four nights. We stayed at one of their lovely 2 bedroom villas located on the 1st hole of the Links course. The first day we played 36 holes of golf starting with the Links Course and then playing the Cliffs. We were lucky enough to have 4 of the very best caddies including Dave Markle, who is amazing, Byron, Jack and Randon. We would highly recommend using the caddy team as this is a world class golf location and they make the experience even that much better.

We had dinner twice at the club in the Panorama Room as well as a couple of lunches at the Cabot Bar. The food and service were both excellent and we would highly recommend both dining rooms. We went over to the Glenora Distillery for scotch tasting and dinner. Once again we had a delicious dinner and came home with 2 bottles of very fine scotch!

In summary, the whole experience was sublime! Golf courses were outstanding, accommodations superb, the meals delicious and every member of their staff who we came in contact were professional, friendly and very helpful. We will definitely return.

Unfortunately for we Irishmen the wind blew us off the course. Mind you we are very familiar with strong wind as our home course is Enniscrone in Ireland. This is one of the best courses you’ll find anywhere.

I emailed reservations, securing a "B" Caddy which was confirmed. Arrived at the course and was eventually introduced to my "B" Caddy by an employee of the ProShop. Had good conversation, played solo, and then around the 5th hole, he says to me..."when we were introduced, was I described as a "A" or "B" Caddy". I replied by saying, that I requested a "B" Caddy and had confirmation. He says, "that's wrong, because I've been here for 5 years and I'm an "A" Caddy" He went on to remind me the difference in fees, and immediately made me feel like I was taken hostage.
He knew how much I paid to play (+$300). How big of a jerk would I look if I didn't pay him the "A" Rate. The rest of the round was tense, the conversation suffered, the experience clouded.
I discussed the matter with the ProShop, was given Ted Stonehouse's email address, which has gone unanswered in 8 days.

The other part - I wholeheartedly feel that this course is #1 in the country because of its location. I play in the jewel of the Niagara Region, and there are a handful of courses within an hr's drive that if were on the ocean, would also be ranked #1 in the world. The design wasn't THAT much better than other courses, and certainly did NOT warrant the green fees.

Warning: Before you spend $400 on a round of golf here (not including caddy), you may consider playing 4 rounds of golf somewhere else without spectacular views. FOUR ROUNDS of GOLF.

Let's just say, I wouldn't spend this much for golf, if I knew this is the experience I'd walk away with.
