This was much hyped on our Rhine cruise. The outcropping with the flags is Loreley and there is a statue along the river. It's probably in a class with Plymouth Rock, The Little Mermaid, and so many other things we've heard about. Slightly disappointing, but...More

I want to post that there are no bridges between Koblenz and Mainz, so if you want to see things along the valley you have to plan your trip before, checking if the site you want to visit is on the right or on the...More

The views of the Rhine from on top of this rock are nice but not anything extremely spectacular. It's more impressive when viewed from the river (e.g. on a boat), since when you're actually on the rock itself it doesn't seem like anything too special,...More

Great and beautiful rock that fits the tales written about the sirens. We saw it from the boat tour and it was well worth the extra time to get there.

Traveled most of the Rhine on a river cruise - passed through the narrowest part of the river here. Impressive rock from the river view. Only saw it from the river, in passing.

If you are on a tour of the Rhine from Frankfurt and the surrounding areas, you will see Loreley and despite, it is being an interesting story, the actual rock and even the statue itself, are not interesting at all. There are far more interesting...More

Its a rock overlooking the place where the river runs fast and is the setting for some fairy stories. Underwhelming view from the river despite the tannoys frantic enthusiasm which actually depleted rather than enhanced enthusiasm. Vies with Juliets balcony in Verona as one of...More

The Rhine River is at his deepest at the Lorely bend and the current there could be treacherous for boats and barges ! The story of Lorely the siren is associated with this phenomenon and it makes more sense when one is cruising on the...More
